New to Lap band talk
Rdy4ANewLife replied to bearbelly's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I too can play several instruments. I've always been musically inclined, can pretty much pick up any instrument and learn how to play within minutes. I played the Clarinet for 9 years. I gave it up after I graduated high school. I really do miss it. Playing the clarinet was my one place I felt at peace when playing it. I always felt like I had no worries in the world. I know since you guys are also musically inclined, that you can understand what I mean when I say I'm "At Peace". Music is what helps me keep my sanity!!! Thanks for posting this!! I will definitely keep up with this one!! Music is such Beautiful Art!!! May it bring peace to others around the world!! -
Yes, I agree, it is fun to watch together. It can definitely get it pretty hot!!:w00t: LOL It's a great change of pace!!

I have 3 Rabbits, but my favorite Rabbit is called "The WallBanger", I got it from AdamEve.com. I definitely like it!! But of course, I always prefer the real thing over toys, but I use them when my hubby goes on deployments and boy are they a life saver!!! LOL Another one I use more than any other toy is the "Mitey Mite". OMG!! The vibrations from this are AMAZING!! and they are cheap but work damn good!! =)

Keeping it a secret?
Rdy4ANewLife replied to Fluffy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Well I wasn't planning on shouting it to the world, but I'm from a VERY small town and my mother seen a cousin of mine who works in the medical field and my mother being the kind worried mom that she is, asked my cousin about it and told her that I'm getting it. So now the whole town will know about it!!! So I might as well shout it to the world now!!! LOL That's ok though, Cuz i'm not ashamed anyways. I just didn't plan on making a huge poster about it and holding it up at football games or anything! I might as well go for it now!!! LOL!! GO LAPBAND!!! =D -

So Confused about what I should do...............
Rdy4ANewLife posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok, this is my story(Sorry if it's too long for some of you ) I have been researching the LapBand for well over a year now and finally decided to go to the doctor and see if I would even get approved for it and I did. I went to see my Surgeon for the first time and he said the only one he would do for me is the LapBand since I am young and very healthy. Im just overweight is all. He sent in my referral for my Psych Eval(Per Insurance Request), So I have to go for that as well. Here is where my problem comes in...................It took so long for them to get my referral sent in for the Psych Eval, that my husband and I had plenty of time to discuss it all and we had made up our mind to have another baby(Since it would be paid for by Tricare and he would be getting out of the Air Force in 21 months and don't know if we could get it paid for as a civilian). Anyways, 2 DAYS after deciding to bring another little one into our lives, I found out I finally got approved for my Psych Eval, and that was all I needed from my insurance in order to get the LapBand. After seeing that I was approved, I had sooooo many things going through my mind at once and I all of a sudden didn't know if I wanted to go through with having a baby or go ahead and get the LapBand now instead of waiting until after I have a baby. Also, my mother no longer wants to me to have the LapBand, because she is afraid of some things "She has heard about it". She keeps pushing for me to have a baby now instead of getting the LapBand, but Im so afraid if I dont get the LapBand now that something will happen after I have a baby and I wont be able to get the LapBand.:tt2: But then again, nothing may happen after having a baby and I can go ahead and get the LapBand. Im so sorry if this has confused any of you. I wouldn't even bother anyone with this, but I have NOONE to talk to about this. I have talked to my husband about it, but he just keeps telling me to do what I think I should do, but thats just it.........I DON'T KNOW!!!! Thank You in advance for all of your help and opinions. I truly do appreciate it more than you will ever know. I heard after having the LapBand done that you should wait 2 years to have a baby? Is this true? Or has anyone gotten pregnant soon after getting the LapBand done? Did everything turn out ok? Cuz if so, that may just solve my problem!! LOL -
Oh Wow, I would NEVER even attempt to do something like that, especially since it already cost a fortune to get the band!! I would not be able to get another one if i screwed it up because of my own stupidity!!! Wow, thats insane!!!

Yeah I liked the old one much better myself!!!

I have to stay the night only because Here in Arizona, it is requested by my insurance to stay one night in the hospital.

My Mom was all for me getting the LapBand until..........
Rdy4ANewLife replied to Rdy4ANewLife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yeah, im not worried about me doing any of these at all. I was basically just wondering if anyone has heard of this or gone through this themselves. I am still going through with the surgery and my mom will just have to see for herself that im not going to become an addict to any of those things! I know she just worries, but eventually she will see everything turns out alright in the end! :w00t: -

New Bander needs your help - numbness
Rdy4ANewLife replied to hallfamilyx2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This exact same thing happens to me all the time and I haven't even been banded yet. It's my right leg that is always numb and it's from my butt down to my knee as well. This has been going on for well over a year now, but I just keep ignoring it. I'm very glad you brought this subject up. Maybe we can get some answers! -
Wow, Im going through Tricare as well and all I have to do is get a Psych Eval done and the doc said im good to go. I guess its different in each region. Im with TriWest, since im in Arizona. I wish you the best of luck with your journey!!

Tri Care and the Phych Eval...Does it cover it?

Yeah it was the secretary that told me that. Maybe I need to just schedule an appointment with my doctor and then ask her personally when I see her?? LOL -
Tri Care and the Phych Eval...Does it cover it?
Rdy4ANewLife replied to SusieC's topic in Insurance & Financing
I just called my PCM yesterday and asked them if they could refer me to get my psych eval done, because I thought they could get me a referral much quicker than my surgeon would. However, they told me that my surgeon has to be the one to refer me.:thumbup: His office sure is taking forever and its frustrating me! I want to try and get this done before Christmas gets here! -

Rdy4ANewLife replied to SusieC's topic in Insurance & Financing
I'm actually going through the process of getting my psych eval approved by Tricare. My surgeon's office is taking their sweet time sending off the referral. Im sure Tricare is going to cover my Psych Eval and if they don't, I can pay $150 dollars to my Surgeons office and have a Psych Eval done through them. I wish you the best of luck!! -
Tri Care/ Champus military insurance (Spouse)
Rdy4ANewLife replied to sharmom's topic in Insurance & Financing
Yes, it all depends on what state you live in. My Doc told me also that people on inusrance in Arizona are required to stay overnight in the hospital. He said he would let us go home that same day but he cant cuz he has to follow insurance guidelines. :tongue2: -

Rdy4ANewLife replied to sharmom's topic in Insurance & Financing
I too am going through Tricare(Triwest for what region im in) and I had my first appointment on September 17th. My Doctor told me, since I am so healthy that all I need to do now is have a Psych Eval done.(Per request of Tricare) They told me it would be about a week and they could send off a referral for my psych eval, but it has now been over a month and still havent heard anything. Its getting quite frustrating, cuz im ready to get the show on the road!! I was also told that I do have to pay $400 out of my pocket for the assistant that will be helping with the surgery cuz tricare does not cover assistants, but Im completely ok with that. I would rather pay $400 for an assistant than thousands for the entire surgery! :tongue2: I wish you all the best of luck with your journeys!!! -
