Good luck Charlene! I am very haappy and excited for you, I hear great things about the sleeve!
  5. No, just the last few weeks. my last fill was in January. I immediately espinded to your word "gnawing" because that was indeed a good description for it. I can eat for days, then sudeenly nothing works for a few days. I might go get a looked at, just to be sure it is in place and all is well.

  8. I know the feeling, have it right now. Sort of a burning. not really hungry, I was sick at dinner a few hours ago. It is unsettling, and I will chew a pepto tablet to see if it goes away. I can not eat late or will have problems in the night.

I keep filling and unfilling. Is this common?

My band has it days... sometimes too tight, sometimes not tight enough. I've learned to pretty much relax and go with it. BUT, I'm not having back pain or any other pain issues. I once was so tight I couldn't get fluids in, and that was too darn tight. Please talk to your doctor and if he unfills you to 8cc, then look for other answers like low carb, more exercise to help get you through. Sometimes you have to give yourself and your band a little time off, and that has often been the "cure" for the very few issues I've had.

    *under* 200!

i've been at 195 for about 2 weeks now, feels great to be in "onederland"! Saw casual friends last weekend, they had not seen me lately and the exclamations and good natured teasing all weekend made me feel great. I feel like me again, and look a whole lot more like myself too. :smile2: Size 18's are getting a wee big! Woohoo, I never dreamed life could be so good.
  13. Be patient with yourself, start following the surgeon's advice. Eat real food, not much of it. Don't drink your calories, soda won't do anything good for you! I was a very slow starter, but I found my groove and have been losing steadily once I had the proper amount of restriction.

2 year bandaversary last week. Thrilled with my weight loss and with my band. Might consider 170 lbs a complete success, 194 today. My high weight was 330!

    Is it really worth it?

Glad you are feeling a little better about your surgery. I think I know how you feel. I kept my finger on the "call it off" option up until the happy juice they slipped in my IV pre-op. I looked hard at gastric bypass and more than once during this journey I admit I sort of wished I had gone that way, except - I expect to have the same success if I had and my new life has been easier to get used to by losing slowly and steadily. There will be some struggles, but be patient with yourself, your doctors and seek support when you need it. food has been such a crutch in my life, now it is less a crutch and more like nutrutional support. Good luck to you, we are here for you on your journey when you need us.

    Is it really worth it?

Sure, I can encourage you. If you want a tool to help you lose lots of weight and are willing to learn how to eat, and exercise, and live a little differently, then by all means have the surgery! I'm overfilled right now and pretty miserable but it is part of the learning experience. It can be settled pretty soon and then I'll do more of the work. That's why I chose the lapband. Either I can do the majority of the work, or the band can, but I get to choose. :frown:
  17. Puking at 70 mph on the interstate, yup I've done it too... now my (new to me) car is a FoodFree Zone! Not proud of it, but my learning curve has been steep and almost entirely trial and error.

I'm so sorry your friend had to go. Cancer in Goldens and Boxers and Flat Coats is all too common. I lost the dog love of my life (Flat Coat) last year. The sadness can be unbearable. I hope you have other furry companions and that the good and funny memories will soon replace your grief and pain. ((((dog lover hugs))))

    Problems of over-fill??

I am too tight, might go back on Tuesday for an unfil and in the meantime, trying frozen sugar free popsicles to stay hydrated.

Too much of a good thing

I got scared because I ate a whole can of Chunky soup... geez... So, now I am 'overfilled' - can't sleep for the acid reflux I have, can't keep water down, have zero energy, but I'm walking and working out anyway. Love the weight loss though.
