Miserable. At 330 lbs for the 2nd time in my life, I was in pain, and embarrassed. I've tried everything. I'd had weight loss success but always regained, because I ate too much. I cleaned my plate at the restaraunts, then on the rare occassion that I brought home the leftovers, I ate them before bed. I was losing my dignity and my quality of life sucked.I was in the mobile mammogram unit, cursing my huge size in such a tiny space that I noticed a sign on the door, True Results. I looked at the website as soon as I got to my computer. I called them and before I knew it, I had an appointment to see Dr. William Johnson. I went in for a consultation, and he was very kind. I was so relieved.Within days his office notified me of an upcoming seminar, that would give me the information I would need to navigate the path to surgery. His staff was efficent and before I knew it, I had all the required tests and final clearance. THey filed the papers with my insurance company. Within two weeks, they called to offer me a surgery date! I was so ready! "Next available date," I said!My surgery day could not have gone any better. The aftercare was excellent, and every staff member of the hospital had nothing but wonderful remarks about my surgeon, and my exciting journey out of obesity. That postive attitude from everyone I encountered really made a difference to me. I've lost 74 pounds, and look forward to losing another 70. With such a good support team, and with my new attitude, there is nothing stopping me.
Fast forward to today, almost 9 years after my band. Today I weighed in at 156.4. I've stayed this weight or +/- 8 lbs for a couple of years now. I have sagging skin, I have good days and bad. I have never once regretted my decision and I still love my lap band. I miss my surgeon though... haven't needed a fill in many years. I went in to see him in 2015, and we both are proud of my success.
ALL days, I'm so thankful to be free from the 150+ pounds that was eating me alive!
