  1. I am in the same boat as you. I do not have a high bmi any more and have had all my fill out. I think I have an ulcer I am being treated with carafate . I need an endoscope too if not better in a month. I had an upper go with severe reflux. On 2 proton in every day and 1 Zantac and carafate. I want to be revised to sleeve but my insurance won't consider me because of low bmi. I paid cash for my band and it has done well until this last year. I have gained 18 pounds in 1 1/2 years. I was banded in July 2008. I was down to 158 but now back up to 176. I am so tired from lack of sleep. Some days I barely make it. I just want my stomach fixed come off all this medicine and get the sleeve but I will have to pay I am afraid. I have Humana insurance. Any one have this insurance? I'm a failure...PLEASE HELP ME!!!

    I'm a failure...PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I also feel like a failure. I had surgery on july 1, 2008. I lost 52 lbs. I have maintained but not lost anymore. I was exercising three hours a day for 4 months and didnt loose a thing. I cannot eat very much at a time no bread at all. I dont think i go over 1500 cal per day on a bad day and maybe 1000 on most days. I am very tight. I really didnt want to loose very fast because i didnt want to have such terrible sagging skin. But i havent lost anything since january. I am thinking of a revision to vertical sleeve so that i dont always feel like something in in my throat. I havent exercised in two months due to sorriness and disgust. I am under a lot of stress due to our business that has been going down. We are trying to sell but no luck. I have been feeling sorry for myself. I hope someone has a suggestion for me.
  4. I also was getting in the habit of slider foods. I have always had at least one shake a day to get in the protein. I also was eating bad slider foods. It is difficult to make the time to sit and eat slowly. I can even get stuck with scrambled eggs when I dont sit down and take my time. Sometimes chicken gets stuck no matter what I do. I think when I started to eat things I shouldnt was when I was run down and tired from the restriction of food. I am only doing the pouch track to get back started and then with all the excercise I will increase calories.
  5. I know it sounds like alot but I really do enjoy it and it is not all at once. I do it several times a day. We live in the country so I just walk out the door. I also am doing the pouch test and it really does work. I am not hungry at all.

Great job. You are such an inspiration. It gives us all hope. Thank you for sharing.
  7. I too was banded in July and lost 57 pounds but I have gained about 5 pounds recently because I wasnt exercising twice a day for an hour. Now I am back on the excercising and the five pounds are almost gone but I wanted to be at goal in a year. I am upping the cardio to three hours a day.

Do you keep your 'fat' clothes?

Hey guys. I am very proud of all of us. In the past I did keep my clothes but with the surgery they are gone as soon as I go down. I am in a 12 dress and pants and so excited. I hope to get to an 8 but a 10 will be great for me too. I think sizes are a little bigger now a days because before at this weight I couldnt wear a 12. I really think that exercise is the biggest key. I have spent about 1400 dollars on new clothes but I feel I am worth it since I didnt buy very many before when I was heavier. Yeah us!!!

    Home Excercise Options

I am with Jachut. I have a treadclimber and I use it when the weather is not so nice. Most of the time I walk outdoors twice a day for an hour. We live in the country. I also like the Leslie Sansone videos. She has a new one that is a 4 mile. I love it because it works your upper body too. I have 30 more pounds to go and I am thinking of jogging soon. I think I can do it. I will start out slow. I broke my ankle 11 years ago and I dont want to reinjure it. That's how I got as high as I did. I feel so good when I walk, Its not just for exercise I pray, think and get to be by myself. It's great. Good Luck Everyone.
  10. Well I was on the 5 day pouch test and a few days in my sister's house burned and her husband, daughter and baby came to live with us for a few weeks. I contunued my excercise but I ate all day every day. My nerves were shot as were theirs. I am starting hopefully again in the morning. I need a fill but want to be back on track for a week before going in. Please pray for me and my sister.
  11. I am with you guys too. I have not been eating great since Thanksgiving but havent gained either. Exercise has been cut in half too. I will start tomorrow. I know we can get back on track. Damn those slider foods. Ha! Ha!
  12. I am cold all the time too. I thought I might be anemic. I have never been cold and I was small until I was 34 years old. Big for about 11 years. I am going to bring it up to my doctor when I go back. I take my vitamins but not twice a day. It is hard to remember.

    Terrible Thanksgiving Backsliding

I did terrible too. I had my third fill on the 12th of November so that I wouldnt eat on Thanksgiving and I was really tight until the week of Thanksgiving then I didnt feel anything at all. But today I feel pretty tight. I think that is so odd. I gained 2.5lbs but am going back down now. Can you stretch your pouch in a few days?

    Need help with portion control

I really blew it during Thanksgiving. I got a fill on the 12th so I wouldnt and had restriction for a few weeks but on Thanksgiving I didnt really feel it. I ate small amounts throughout the day. I even ate bread which I have not been able to do. Did you sometimes have restriction for only a few weeks?
  15. I was banded on july 1st. Had my first fill six weeks later with a little restriction then felt nothing. No restriction but still stuck with the food guide lines. No cheating and walking 45 min a day twice a day. Had a fill on oct 8th no restriction and still stuck with the food until the end of october. Ate some things i shouldn't but was trying to see if i would get full. I didnt. Then called for another fill on nov 12th. I am very tight. I have to eat very slowly and try to take very small bites. I am glad to have the restriction. Exercise is key though and a good protein and veggie diet. Stick with it. You will do great. No more bread. Ha! Ha!
  16. Annabell1

    Restriction question

Are you getting enough protein. You will be hungry if you are not eating at least 70-80 grams of protein a day. I feel you are close to restriction because things get stuck and it is hard to eat some things. Maybe in a few weeks you need another fill. I am walking 2 hours a day and have just started doing some strength training and i hope this will help tighten up some areas. Protein is the key. Good luck.

    LOOSE skin now?

Hello, I weighed about 225 when I got my surgery on July 1, 2008 and am down 45 lbs. I dont have very much loose skin. I am walking twice a day for 45 min to 1 hour and trying very hard to stay up with the protein so that you dont lose muscle and it has worked for me. I am 45 years old and I am extremely happy with my results. I really think that exercise is the key.
  19. How much are you exercising. I am walking 45-55 minutes twice a day and i stay under 1000 calories per day to lose 10 pounds per month. I even feel like i may need to do more to continue losing at this pace.

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I am proud of everyone. I have lost over 39 pounds. I was banded on july 1. It has been easier than i thought but i am walking my but off. I walk twice a day for at least 45 minutes each time. I stick to mostly protein and some carbs. I have kept to my goal of at least 10 pounds per month. I hope to meet my goal of 140 by the end of january. I havent added weights yet. Has anyone started this yet. I think i will wait for at least one more month. I need another fill soon. I can eat a little more that before. I really am excited. This is the smallest i have been in 10 years. Good luck to all.

    La La La Wonderland!!!

Great job. It is really hard work. I am so excited for you. Have been in onderland for a few weeks now. I reached my goal yesterday to be 190 by my anniversary which is today. 22 years. We are having a romantic dinner tonight. I hope i can eat a little bit. I am walking also. Not able to do much else yet. Maybe in a few months i can start the weights. I have started walking twice a day in the last few weeks about 45 minutes each time. It keeps me motivated to step on the scales and see the weight coming off. I think i am getting obsessed with scales i need to back off of them. Keep up the hard work everyone.

    Grieving for the old me?

I had the same problem when I was trying to decide to do this for myself. I had 5 sessions with a therapist and it did me a world of good. I talked to my family and they wanted what was best for us all, for me to be around to help for a very long time. I didn't make the big meals for a few weeks but now I can do it and am not tempted. I feel wonderful and my attitude is so much better than resenting all I did for everyone and not myself. We deserve to take care of ourselves too. Try fixing what you like and what you can eat and add to it for everyone else. I am happier than I have been in 10 years. I am down 34 lbs and was banded on July 1st. I know when you go to your support group you will get strength from them and I also pray quite a bit on my twice a day walks. Good luck and take care.

    Confused..

Maybe you are not eating enough. You need to get all the protein in about 70 grams per day. Try to increase your calories to about 900. This also happened to me and then more weight came off after about 2 weeks. I havent had a fill yet either and have lost 29 lbs since june 13th. I am also walking 30 minutes twice a day. I do not eat very many carbs. I eat protein, yogurt, cottage cheese and cheese. Very little carbs at all. Maybe 20 grams.
