Girl make sure you make the doctors office check. I called my insurance and they said they sent the approval. Soon after I got off the phone with them I called my doctors office and she was like no we haven’t received anything. I was like ummm can you double check because the insurance company said they sent the approval over in the morning. She was like I don’t think so but I’ll check again and low and behold it was there! She was like oh I just didn’t see the email right away. So glad I called and made her check so call and make them check!!

Yes it is extremely frustrating but you’ll be approved soon.

I have BCBS my paperwork was sent in on 12/23 I got my approval on 1/5 it was the hardest few days of my life lol
-
It is really easy and it takes about 30 minutes . I had to get 2 because they found a small benign mass in my stomach which will get removed during my surgery.

I feel your pain . It does seem like it takes forever but once you get your surgery date your like it really didn’t take that long. My paperwork was sent in on 12/23 I was approved on 1/5 but I called them almost every day after the first week.

I went from 250 to a low of 132 before bouncing back up to 142.
You look great!!

I wonder how it feel after being overweight all these years to finally be at a “normal” size again. I was pretty slim all the way until my mid 20’s then I just put on like 70 lbs over a course of 15 years and I didn’t really notice until about 5 years ago and been trying to lose ever since. I lost 20 lbs here and 30 lbs there but always put back more so I finally made the decision to have wls. Idk how I’m going to feel to be back to my normal weight it’s exciting and a little scary at the same time! How is it for you guys?

I lost 31kg in 6 months which was my goal & a further 11kg in the last 13 months. The first pxt was about 6 months before surgery - can’t believe I was that big. The second was last week.
It’s a big decision to change how your body functions so your worries are understandable. Having surgery was the best decision I ever made. My journey was pretty smooth. A couple of little hiccups (low blood pressure, a little hyperglycaemia) all manageable & all things I’d experienced in the past when I had been slim. Certainly nothing that makes me regret my decision.
Good luck on your journey.
Beautiful!

Second picture (from 2017) is of me when I was two years out of surgery (this was before I had my skin removal surgery, though...I had that in Aug 2018 and March 2019). Last one was of me on my 60th birthday (last year). I've put on some weight since the 2017 picture - but excess skin is gone!
You look amazing!!

Keep on top of them. I called every day just to get a status. So glad I did call they told me they approved me, I called my doctors office just to confirm they had the approval, the nurse said not yet, I was like ummm my insurance company said you did and she was like oh really let me check, and oh wow it was there she must have “missed” the email. I was scheduled right away so I am happy I stayed on their asses!
