  1. I don’t even check my weight at home. The first time I stepped on the scale was Tuesday at my post op appointment and to my delight I lost 13 lbs since my surgery two weeks ago. I can’t believe I lost 13 lbs in two weeks! My next appointment is April 6th I will see how much I lost ( if I lost) at that point. Idk why everyone is so quick to step on the scale, you had wls so you will lose the weight. Be patient! Lol. Take pics along the way, that’s what I do and I can already see the difference.

  2. I am so 12 days post op and the head hunger has mostly subsided. I am feeling so much better, barely any pain, and I am able to do more around the house. I still have to take it easy because one day hubby and I went to 2 stores and by the time we got home I was beat and slept for the rest of the day. Now hubby has had me in the house for the last two days and monitors me lol he really think he is my doctor but he has been extremely supportive could not ask for better. Also, I don’t know if it’s the Vitamins and Calcium or maybe it’s just in my head but my skin is glowing, my teeth looks more whiter, my hair has gotten thicker it’s amazing! Does anyone else see these changes or any other good changes besides weight loss?

Try ice. Is week two still liquids for you? I get to add yogurt, pudding and skim milk in week two day 15 and week three it’s just half a banana, cream of wheat, and oatmeal. I can’t wait to eat my oatmeal and banana. I wonder if they would let me add a little Peanut Butter. Every week is broken down with tiny you can eat options. I have to wait all the way to week at to eat seafood and week 7 to eat any form of meat 😢. It’s seafood season in Louisiana

I have my post op appointment on Tuesday. I am hoping i am able to transition to purée food!

  4. I cannot eat Jello now after surgery. I had mine on 3/3 also and I loved it before surgery now just the thought of it makes me gag. You have to figure out what is best for you and your new stomach. For instance, I can only tolerate Protein Shakes if they are ice cold. When they are room temperature it is extremely hard for me to get down. It took me a while to realize this but once I did I was very happy. My recovery has been pretty good but I know what you mean. I don’t think a lot of us realize how big of a change it is until we actually go through it. I want to be out and about and doing things I normally do but i can’t right now and that’s a huge disappointment. My husband always says this is temporary and I know it is but I just want the healing part to be over. Stay strong girl you got this!

  5. Wow everyone I’m off for 6 weeks and I work from home. Even though I don’t have a labor heavy job I still can’t imagine sitting at the computer for 8 or 9 hours and trying to concentrate on dealing with people. The pain is bearable but it’s still hurts to do a lot of things on my own and I’m not trying to rush anything. Maybe because I had a tumor removed also.

I had my surgery on Wednesday March 2, but not doing very well, I am still in the hospital. The day of surgery I had a hard time urinating. They kept taking bladder scans and found a problem. A blood clot and leaking from the staples. They took me back into surgery yesterday and were able to remove it, then they put clamps where the staple line was leaking blood. Yesterday had some pain, to days only pain is getting out or in bed or a chair. Hospital broth is the worse so I am sticking to sugarless Jello.

Surgeon has been doing this 11 years and has only experienced problems like this twice and both were in the last 6 months.thank goodness they put in a catheter while I was asleep yesterday because getting out of a bed or chair is very painful.

now tonight I had problems with intravenous, as they are giving me liquids and all the other ones hurt so bad so they did an ultra sound to find a good vein, so now it is in my upper arm.

with all these complications I keep questioning myself on why I did this.

Good luck to everyone else, hope you don’t ave the problems I have experienced.

I am sorry to hear you’re going through all that. Being in the hospital is not fun especially on top of all that. I was in the hospital for two days and I was released yesterday. I hated being there with the blood work and the shots to prevent blood clots not to mention the IV fluids freaking burned it was not a good experience but i made it through and so will you. I have been frustrated a few times just cause of the pain and not being able to move a lot and I’m not used to this. My husband has been wonderful and I don’t know what I would’ve done without him being here. I hope you have a strong support system because you will definitely need it. Like they always say this too shall pass, you got this girl stay strong.

Hey, how was it today? I’m still in the hospital and so ready to go home

Hey today was better than yesterday because I am home. I was discharged yesterday after I was able to drink half of a Protein Shake. I was so glad go home omg. I’m still in some pain but nothing I can’t tolerate. Why are you still in the hospital? Is everything ok?
