Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that! I am sending big hugs! Think about how much you have already accomplished and keep that getting you through til you get your next date. Who knows, maybe if you keep up this lifestyle you might not even need the surgery. ~Positive Vibes~

You aren’t allowed any food? I thought I had it bad with just two cups of green veggies a day. But it worth it, think about hot girl summer for once in our lives 😁
-
I have to drink 4 optifasts a day... and only 2 cups of green veggies! It’s pretty bland. I’ve lost 12 pounds since Dec.3rd... quite surprised
-
Same day as me!!! Also feeling pretty nervous !
-
I KNOW... like some days are easier than other... I am cheering for you too! We got this!
-
Were having surgery on the same day! WOOT WOOT!!! I am feeling so ready for this... I have already lost 11 lbs since I started the pre-op diet! I am just experiencing uncertainty about going under... freaks me out a little
-
Have you thought about putting something into your drinks to make it a little more appealing?
-
Congratulations! Hang in there! I’m sure you will start to feel much better soon.

Have you tried eating celery, it’s got mega crunch and is tasty! One stalk goes a long way. I wanted to let you know how I am feeling, very much the same as you, I feel starved sometimes. But if I tune into my body, I’m not really hungry, I just miss chewing. Important to drink all your shakes, I am supposed to have 4 of them a day, I usually make them with decaf coffee and make them huge so they fill me. -
How much weight have you lost?
-
I know what you mean! Never have I ever lost this much in a week. And what’s crazy is I’m not even hungry!
-
A pumpkin protein shake does sound delicious though! I keep telling myself I’m not really missing out, because it’s the same thing every year and I can get it again next year

My surgery schedule for Dec 17th, a week before Christmas. I know I’ll be on nothing but liquids during this stage, and I’m really hoping I can be satisfied with my fluids only. Any tricks on avoiding desires/temptations during the holidays?
-
How can I turn seafood into liquid? Haha... maybe I’ll drink salty water lol. I just finished making homemade broth and put it in the freezer, shall be a delicious broth for Xmas Dinner.
-
I did weigh myself, only down .3 today, but still down. I’ve also lost 9lbs since starting my shakes. I think it’s the water weight.
-
I microwaved the vegetables in the water and then used a hand blender to “purée” them, then put them through a cheese cloth (paper towel works well too) to take extra moisture out. From there they were easy to form (keep some moisture in so they form) and put them in a pan with Pam, salt for flavour... not too bad. Plus it kept me busy instead of thinking of other food
-
That’s a good idea! Bring the protein shake... I can’t wait for it to happen lol
-
That’s why I am so happy I got scheduled before the holidays, because it meant I could have extra time off. I just spoke to my mom and she said she will freeze some of the fish from Xmas eve so i can enjoy it when I can eat solids again. She’s a sweet angel
-
That sounds delicious! I made veggie patties out of boiled broccoli today
-
Bring your own food to events, and bring different flavours of crystal light
-
That’s a lot to lose, I am scared I’m not going to lose any weight. So far I’ve lost 6 pounds since starting my shakes...I’m surprised by that
-
I have the same date! I also am shocked by the amount of things revolve around food. I’ve been also feel really creative.

December 17th here... its the day after my birthday so I guess... Happy Birthday too me. Feeling really nervous, been pretty good on this presurgery diet, but like I am having a lot of cravings, anyone else experience this?

New to this... surgery is on 12/15

Hi there, I am really close to my date also 12/17, and there are somethings you shared in the post that were told to me as "no-no's" First off, you should only be consuming clear liquids, (i.e broth, water, decaf coffee) and only eat two cups of the following vegetables (see below). You want to ensure that your body stays in a ketosis state so that before you have surgery your liver is at its smallest state (ketosis is a fat burning process) having a smaller liver will make it easier for the surgeon to operate since your stomach is very close to your liver. Secondly, I think that you should definitely arrange for a ride or at least take a taxi/Uber home after surgery, best to be safe. Do you have anyone staying with you after the surgery? I hope you will be okay and understand the professionals recommend this sort of thing because they know what will make it the easiest process for you afterwards (this is not for them) . Like you, I am finding it hard to be on the liquid diet, and I come from an Italian home...today I ate spinach while they all had plates of homemade pasta. And when I came home I had 1 cup of chicken broth while my boyfriend ate a bag of perogies. All this to say I understand how are you feeling and I hope this does not come off as harsh, but you need to follow the guidelines provided for you so that you have the best possible results for you! Food List (only two cups a day) Spinach, Cucumber, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cucumber, Lettuce, Cabbage, Fat Free J-ello
