Good Luck! I am struggling with my pre-op diet now. I do good all day until I get home and I am starving to death!

I had my pre-op too yesterday! doesn't it make you that more excited to know how close it is getting?

I am a big coffee drinker....My doctor said no coffee 8 weeks after surgery because coffee dehydrates you and for every cup you drink you need to drink 2 cups of water. I dont know how Iam going to do it. I am doing the pre-op diet and already had m ycoffee for the day!

Congrats on getting banded sooN! I am also getting banded in boston, but at BIDMC on August 11th! Cannot wait!

Everywhere is different. I had to attend 2 info sessions, 1 of them I had to attend before my first appointment in the program. The 2nd one before I met with the surgeon. I then had to have a meeting with the nurse, medical director, nutritionist, pysch(only lasted 10 mins), gallbladder ultrasound. Then they met and decided if I was a good candidate and then met with the surgeon and got my date. My mom is also going through this and had to do a breathing test on top of all of that. My first appt was june 17th and my surgery is aug 11th.

I am superexcited. I recented my insurance approval yesterday! Less then a week! My surgery is definitely August 11th and I cannot wait! It has been soo hot and humid here that I am actually tempted to put on my bathing suit and go to the beach. Just think next summer how much more comfortable I will be going to the beach. I cannot wait. 20 more days!:biggrin:

I am starting my pre-op this weekend! Any recommendations from anyone? I have to replace 2 out of my 3 meals! I am super excited and super nervous.

I know everyone asks about this but I couldn't find a thread about this. I am expecting to get it but hopefully I won't. Any suggestions? I carry my weight in my hips/thighs/bottom and not to much above my waist.

Ouch! I could never imagine given birth to a 12lb baby! Congrats! My son was 6lbs and I was dieing. I dont care alot of weight in my stomach but do have left overs from being pregnant. I amjust concerned with my thighs, but I rather be healthy and hanging then morbidly obesity and tight.

Thanks!!! I do excerise so that shouldn't be a problem. As for drinking...my doctor said it is fine...just be careful because it is empty calories. so pilates really works? I tried yoga and walked out...I have the attention span of a 3 year old! hehe Thanks!

Good Morning!!! I am superexcited! I got my date yesterday of August 11th. I will have my pre-op testing on July 29th and then my 2 week pre-op diet starts. I am excited. I am ready for this change. I am going to start shopping this weekend to try out different types of Protein drinks since GNC has a great return policy...If you don't like it they will take it back! As for unrelated band info. I live just outside of Providence, RI and I love it! I have one son who just turned 4 years old this past weekend and a wonderful boyfriend.

I just met with the surgeon yesterday in Boston and I am getting banded august 11th!!!! I am from East Providence, RI. Please add me to your list!

Congrats! I am also in the process of appointments at BIMDC. I am from RI, but I have BCBS of MA so I can only get it done in Boston.

I am hypo since I do not have any thyroids at all due to cancer. Once your medicine is regulated which can take over a year. You will be fine in the loosing weight aspect. You have to be patient with this process and should have your blood checked every 6 weeks or so. If you are really concerned make sure you are seeing an endocrinologist(cannot spell). As for levels being different everytime you had blood work, that is what tipped off the doctors that I had a growth in thyroids. Most growths are beign(90%) of them. Good luck everyone!!! I am also in the waiting period.

Good Morning everyone! I have started the process of doctor visits. I am super excited. I have already been to 1 info session and met with the nurse and head of the department. July 1st I go to the therapist, dietician, and have my ultrasound on my gallbladder. I am going to BIMDC in Boston. I have always struggled with my weight, but ever since I had my thyroids removed it has been even harder. So hopefully this will help me!:rolleyes2:
