Calling all Dr De Bruyne Patients- Europe
keving replied to Honeyduen's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi I was banded on the 10th June by him, nice guy. He informed me that it was touch and go as to whether he did the operation as when he went inside me he found a very large hiatial hernia, he fixed it and banded me. So I have a lot to thank him for. I wondered why I was regulary sick during the middle of the night, I thought it was just indegestion. hope all goers well -
no, I am due my first fill mid Sept.

took family out for a chinese meal last night (wifes birthday) I tried some dim sum and they were yum, small bits and chewedd the hell out of them before swallowing and all went well. I then ahd singapore rice, I had 2 small spoonfulls and was stuffed, my wife and little girl had to eat it as I ached, I think thats the first time I have over done it. But end result is dim sum yum but cant eat any more than 4.

I tried to get one early July but because of business commitments I couldn't make it in London, I am away for the first 3 weeks of August so the earliest I could get a fill is Sept. Although I would like to get one done before I go away on Aug 1st. If anyone knows of someone who does it near milton keynes etc, would appreciate it.

I was really lethargic but seem to have got through it now, it took me at least 3 weeks. Sounds like the wights falling off you, great start.

cheers,I was really anxious to try toast, I ate really slowly and small pieces and it went well. I always eat wholemeal but never eat crust, ate it once and really had a problem and became anxious about it so steer clear of crust. let me know how you go in 2 weeks time, have you noticed weight loss yet?

Hi One month in and have lost 2st 7lbs, all slowing down now, no fill due until Sept. Have found things easy so far, I went out with the wife for our anniversary last week and had a bowl of crab soup as starter and then tried to eat a lemon sole, I was so full I only ate 1/3rd of the fish, as much as I wanted some bread, I didn't eat any with the emal, I had a crust the other day and was really bad, so never doing that again, I was so full I had bad wind and couldn't stop belching, which was nice but in no way romantic :-) Wish I had a fill due now as things have slowed right down and I'm eating a little more each day, onto 2 slices of wholemeal toast every morning, a bowl of soup for lunch, a bowl of soup for dinner and maybe a slice of wholemeal toast as a snack if hungry. I am unable toe at any solids yet, but will try slowly next week. Kevin

Hi Thanks and good luck with your op on Friday.

Hi After approx 18months of researching and cancelling a couple of consultations, I finally had the op in Vilvoorde, Belgium on the 10th June, so I am just over a week in and so pleased. Lost over a stone already and amazed at how this works. At the weekend I thought my band must have slipped a I felt no resistance with eating Soup, I tried a boiled potato and small pieve of bloiled carrots and paid the price, felt awful and nearly sick. I guess this must have been the swelling gone down making me think resistance had gone, Doh. Would love to speak to others who have had this done and hear experiences, weight loss etc. A very happy boy! Start weigth 127kg 279 pounds= BMI 42 Goal 95kg 210pounds
