Memaw Have you heard anythign New from the Dr's office this is terrible... I wonder about these things ever day!!! My Surgery is scheduled for the 18th and I'm waiting for them to say oh it didn't go through.

My Name is Heather and I'm 39 Mother of Two girls 18 & 12 and a Wife of a Wonderful man. I'm so excited about this new journey I've decided to take I have been heavy since my first Child. I was diagnosed with an Auto Immune disorder that has taken my ability to loose weight to a screeching Halt. Slowly but surely the way has complicated my life. SO I"M READY FOR A NEW ME. I'm looking at it as a new lease on life. My only fear is to have the insurance say no after all this hard work.... :tongue: Not sure how long the insurance approval process takes so I will just hang on and hope the 18th is still my date. I wish everyone here lot of luck in our new endeavor.:tongue:

Yes That would be great I'm being Banded on the 18th and Thanksgiving will be a wash.... They make Pumpkin Coffee I wonder if there is a flavoring we can put in a Vanilla Shake?? LOL

I'm so excited ... I had my last meetign with Dr. and start pre-op next week. I have the 18th but the office tripped me up a little and said we are faxing all the infor over to your insurnace company and you should be all set...." SHOULD BE" so now I'm waiting for the " WHAT IF"

Mommyx2, I had to get pre-approval to see if insurance would pay, then go through 6 mo's of Dieting and all Pre surgery consults and NOW I'm WAITING for final thumbs up!!! I have a surgery date of November 18th but I'm so nervous something will come back denied.

Does anyone on this thread have Aetna Health Insurance? The reason I ask is I got preapproved and I have met all my requirments and My Surgeon has booked me on the 18th and they said they are submitting all my paperwork to get an Authz number. Does anyone know how long this takes..... I'm trying not to ge EXCITED till I get that Authz#. My dr. doesn't seem to think there will be a problem but I'm just so SCARED to be happy.

WOW it looks like lots of us have the 18th for a date. It's got to be lucky...lol... I don't have to diet until 5 days before surgery so I have one more week of Solids trying not to go through the "Last Supper and pack it on before surgery. I have to take up a hobbie to keep my hands busy!!! Good Luck to all.

Monica & Chicago Mom, I know exactly how you feel. I get the but you have such a pretty face or your just fine the way you are why would you do that. My Mother is a Nurse and she has been the worst. My Husband is so-so not sure if he is worried that if I loose the weight I will be a different person. Either way I'm doing this so I can live a long happy life for myself and my children. I no longer want to fear fitting in a booth, squeezing into an airline seat (which I travel alot for my job) or squeezing down the isle without smacking them with my back side. People who don't suffer from obesity don't always know how hard this is for us. This is a big choice we have made and it's not something we have stepped into lightly.

I know how you feel... for the past 18 years I have been overweight... I'm waiting for the day to go on rides with kids at the amusment parks, to be able to walk into anystore to buy clothes!!!. I worry about plateaus but there are so many people on here to helps us through all our obsticals. Good luck on your surgery.

I buy them at Stop & Shop, Wal-Mart & Target has them I wouls also assume you can buy them at any GNC. They are not cheap but they taste great ... no grit.. no grime.

Wow I'm truly thankful that I only have to do I 5 day diet which consists of 9 oz of protein and all the clear Liquids I can drink. I have however found a low Carb Protein shakes I LOVE!!! They are the EAS Advantedge Carb Control Ready to drink shakes they are 17gms of Protein and less that 1-2 grams of sugar and jam packed with Vitamins. I love the Cafe' Carmel. They are also around 110 Calories. I got hooked on them because sometimes after the gym I get Hungry and they are high in protein or when your on your way home it's nice to have as a in between meal so you are not ready to eat the fridge when you get home.

Hi All, I'm having my Surgery on Tuesday November 18th YAHOOOO!!! I'm so excited.... I'm scared to be excited because I have an appt. with the Surgeon on Monday and I just want to scream with Excitment. I'm not sharing my surgery with co-workers and only a select friends the judgment from others has been difficult to swallow.

I have been waiting FOREVER it seems to say ... I will be a looser on November 18th!!!! YAHOOOO I'm so excited I got the phone call today and nearly fell the heck of my chair. I'm trying not to get to excited but I will be meetign with my surgeon on Monday to go over Pre-Op Diet.

Hi there I have reached my Midway and will be meeting with the Dr. but i Have no idea what to expect and the office staff seem to always rush me off the phone everytime I call. I have to attended 6 mos of food counsling before ins. will clear me that will put me to Nov 5th. Once that is done how quickly does everything else go?:sleep2::Banane37:

Hi You, Yes gotta love it when the scale is not so kind to us !!! It's been tough as you know staying on track. My last appt with Lisa the nutrtionist I told her i'm tired of " Food" I'm tired of the same things over and over!!! She told me to stay positive and keep going... so I went home and took a week off.. NO COUNTING NO MEASURING and I still did good but the pressure was off. So now I'm back on track again trying to get these last stubborn 7 lbs off so I can be at what he wants for Surgery!! I had then Endoscopy done and they found a medium size hernia...go figure... Dr. White is unsure what Dr. B wants to do... they may have to fix the Hernia at the time they do the band. I have my appt with Lisa next week and then my last one will be in November. Karen Darley called and I have my Pre-Surgery class at the Hospital in 2 weeks and the only things left are the Stress Test & Echo Cardiograhm. Then I'm done so by the 1st-2nd week of November I will be done. I'm really hoping to get the Lap Band for Christmas. Where are you in the scheme of things?

Hello fellow banders has anyone gone through this procedure and found a small hernia??? Dr is not sure if he wants to fix it.. he feels it maybe ok? Is this something that can prolong my surgery?

you guys make me laugh :omg_smile: I agree I didn't come this way ang go through all of this to go half way. Would you ask football players to only play till half time??? Heck NO... Riht now I have a bum my friend joke that I could put a service for 4 on it.... It's not that big but i'm sure you get the picture!!! LOL.... I want 100% and will settle for nothing less.:scared2:

Walkers may walk one to three loops.
