  1. That was similar to the recommendations I got. I've been following it and losing consistently. Follow the advice you're given.
  2. It isn't slow. You lost 7 kilos in less than a month! Everyone stalls at this point. Your body has to recover.

    Feeling super guilty...

I didn't even do a pre-op liquid diet. Don't beat yourself up. Cheating with almonds is one of the most innocent cheat meals I've ever seen anyway.

    Protein Alternatives

At a week out I was having greek yogurt and blended lenti soup for protein. Hummus too. Some of this depends on what you're allowed to have. Bone broth is another option.

Sleeve Diet for those who don't cook

I know you say you don't want to hear this, but part of success with surgery involves a lifestyle change. I'm also single and don't like cooking. I travel a lot and end up eating a lot at restaurants. That hasn't allowed me to live a healthy life though so I've forced myself to change and eat more meals where I have control over what I'm eating. Just because you don't cook doesn't mean you have to eat at a restaurant. There are tons of very easy, healthy meals to make. Lately for lunch I'm eating sliced mozzerella on top of bell peppers with some balsamic.

    Facial Hair

This is probably hormonal. I would ask your doctor about it.

    Lack of support for post-op

I didn't need much help at all after surgery. Do you have the budget to hire a housekeeper for the month after surgery and a home healthcare aid for the first few days? It's hard to predict your recovery but hiring people could be a solution if you have the ability to do that.

    Jealous Spouse

Keep in mind some men don't really understand women's clothing. He may be thinking halter top and shorts as the kind of thing a stripper wears whereas you might be thinking of what they actually look like. It sounds like you need to have an open honest conversation together.

    Menstrual Cramps Relief?

This doesn't help for pain in the moment but helps prevent it. Take evening primrose oil once a day and then take a magnesium supplement or electra sport drink mix infused with magnesium. You can also take buscopan (I don't know the name of it in America) for the pain when you experience it.
  10. I was cleared to lift after one month but I tried it and didn't feel ready for it yet. I might try again in a couple months. I switched to resistance bands for now.

    NO pre-op Liquid Diet...Anyone else?

I only had to do a liquid diet for 24 hours before surgery and then consume nothing the 8 hours directly before it. For the week before surgery I did a low fat diet to shrink the liver. I had a lot of grilled chicken and fish and some bean or veggie soups.

    November 2020 sleevers

Same feelings here! It feels great to get back into some physical activity I used to love. I let myself get really out of control for a long time and I'm just now recognizing how much my love of food took away my love of everything else. I decided to only step on the scale maybe once a month and just focus on working out and eating right. I'm leaving for a snowboarding trip in Armenia next week. Its my first time going in over a decade. When I was a teenager and in college I used to compete and was an instructor. I'm excited to go again, even if I know my weight is still too high and will be a hindrance. One psychological struggle I'm having is that I'm a total fashionista. At every weight I've managed to have a great wardrobe and made it look GOOD. It's really hard to do that during weight loss and while I love that my clothes are way too big now I also don't want to buy anything new until I'm closer to a goal. However, that means a long time not having my fashion fix and I'm struggling.
  13. I'm curious if you've lived in China before? I do think there may be a real concern digesting some Chinese cuisine. A lot of it is very oily and extremely spicy, especially yunnan or sichuan (I'm talking the real Chinese stuff not the American versions). I just had surgery two months ago and already enjoy fruit, spicy food, and some healthy fats. You definitely don't have to give up everything fun. However, I know there is no way my stomach could handle some of the things I used to eat when I lived in China. Sichuan peppercorn would be rough right now and I love it. White rice is also not possible and I don't know how you avoid that in China. Do you have an idea of the stuff you really want to try? If you do I might be able to give you a better idea.

3 week post op weight gain

2 pounds up isn't really a gain. You might just be constipated or not drinking enough water so your body is retaining it. Small fluctuations in weight are normal.

    Any teachers out there?

I'm a college professor. I was physically fine but in a brain fog for 2 weeks after surgery. I definitely wouldn't have had the mental capacity to teach at that time.
  16. Just stay off the scale for a couple of weeks. Right after surgery your body is in recovery and there may be some crazy fluctuations. You will lose, don't worry!

I use the LoseIt app on my phone.

Boobs.... why are they coming back... ugh

I have the same problem. My boobs have gotten bigger with weight loss. I was a 44H and now I'm a 40 who the hell knows but it's massive. I've always had massive boobs at every weight I've been.

Dr saying not to drink protein shakes!

So I think this might be a cultural difference. I'm also in the Middle East and the dietician told me I don't need protein shakes. Americans seem all about them. She didn't mention the heart palpitations but she just said they're not really healthy and have a lot of additives. I haven't had any shakes post-surgery. For the first couple weeks I had a lot of milk, juice, and yogurt. In the pureed stage I had all kinds hummus, baba ghanoush, lentil soup, mashed potatoes with nutritional yeast on top, more yogurt, soft cheeses, and fish. Now I've added in some other things. I get between 80 and 100g of protein a day and don't use the shakes. You can do it!

    Regrets

I've struggled with extremely painful and long, heavy periods for years and doctors never seem to pay attention to it. I have a medical condition where my testosterone is far higher than an average woman (not PCOS but sort of similar). I have tried EVERYTHING in order to treat this and been to so many doctors. I learned taking evening primrose oil everyday helps as it's supposed to help regulate hormones. Also, up your magnesium. I have no idea if it exists in the USA but in the Middle East there is this powdered drink called Biolectra Sport infused with magnesium and it helps me tremendously and I drink it every night. I also take Buscopan for when the pain gets really bad. I know your issue isn't pain as much as length of periods but maybe this can help.

    Goal rewards—suggestions?

I bought myself a snowboard. I haven't gone in about 10 years because my weight got too high. I can't wait to go again.

    Questioning Nutritionist Advice

My daily intake is 1200, based on advice from the dietitican and doctor. I would follow it.
  23. This sounds like it might be your gallbladder. Regardless you should see a doctor.

    Can I eat raw fruits?

I'm 6 weeks out and am eating apples, mangoes, all kinds of berries, kiwis, and bananas. I haven't had any issues. These are allowed on my plan though so it's possible it's different for other people.

    November 2020 sleevers

I'm stalled again for the second time. Last time I posted here and my stall broke so I'm going to see if that magically works again. I'm assuming it's because I started working out again and my body is wondering what I'm doing to it.
