  1. Don't worry this is normal! You're taking in so few calories that you feel dizzy and the surgery and aftermath is a lot to go through emotionally. I was really dizze the first two weeks after surgery and I even had to put a chair in the shower. I know everyone says to walk but don't walk if you're feeling like this. Instead just get up once an hour and move around your house. As you're able to eat and drink a little bit more things should get better.
  2. I would really suggest that you invest in some sessions with a trainer. If you want to build muscle then using machines and small weights really isn't the way to do it. Using free weights with proper technique is the way. Get a trainer who knows lifting, preferably a powerlifter and they can help you.

havent lost in 2 1/2 months 10 months post op

Don't give up! I stalled for about 3 months and then the scale started rapidly moving again. I did a body scan and I had actually stayed the same weight but lost 4 kilos of fat/gained 4 kilos of muscle in that time. At this point I would focus on body measurements and body fat % instead of the scale.
  4. I'm not much of a breakfast eater and never have been. My sleeve also feels more restrictive in the morning so if I do try and eat something it's very small. I usually do a mid-morning snack instead of breakfast.

    Potatoes 5 weeks out

Your dietitian wasn't happy because at 3 days your staple line is still healing and you risk busting it open.

    Potatoes 5 weeks out

I ate mashed potatoes at that stage and added protein powder and nutritional yeast. My dietitian also went on a rant about how the potato has been unfairly demonized and that potatoes are fine in moderation so I'm going with that.
  7. Okay calm down. 6 weeks out is REALLY early to be working out this much when your body is barely even taking in food. Regardless, 18 lbs is a lot. This sounds totally normal.

    Well intentioned compliments

No you're not too sensitive that would bother me too.

    How spicy do you eat?

I love spicy food and regularly eat it, especially Indian food. In the first couple months after surgery when you are healing you probably want to avoid it but otherwise it should be fine.

    This surgery is bullshit...

You might need more than 800 calories. I was supposed to get a minimum of 1200 as soon as possible after surgery. I've found that hard to get to sometimes and when I can't get there my weight loss stalls. It's entirely possible you are eating too little and that is sabotaging your efforts.

learning to let go of old eating habits

I still have an occasional slice of pizza although I can't eat more than 1. This surgery is unpredictable though and some people seem to have far more restrictions in terms of foods they can't handle. For me, I have trouble with any kind of ice cream, heavy cream, or whipped cream. I once had a tiny chocolate fondant with ice cream and then a tiny piece of pumpkin pie with cream and both times that did not go well. Everthing else I have no trouble with but I also don't crave a lot of crappy food.

    HELP IT HURTS

Move around. Just take a slow walk down the hallway and back. Also do something to distract yourself from the pain. Talk to a family member or watch a tv show you like or just something to focus your attention elsewhere.

    This surgery is bullshit...

I'm also really not into logging food and hate doing it. I still force myself to do it even if it's a struggle. I think if you go into this with a "I'm not this kind of person so I won't do that" then you're not in the right mindset for surgery. If you always do what you have always done then you always get what you always got, which is obesity. For most of us success with this surgery means changing a lot of things to our lifestyles and adjusting to a new mindset. You can't go in just saying I don't log food, I don't cook, I don't exercise, etc. and then think anything will change for you.

    November 2020 sleevers

I hit 299 lbs this morning after being stalled for 3 months. My body really didn't want to go below 300. I'm down over 110 lbs since surgery and still have a lot more to go but my doctor said my progress is normal and apparently I'm just more of a slow and steady loser so this should continue. Overall feeling great!
  15. Wow that's creepy what the hell.
  16. What are you actually eating? My weight loss stalled for quite a while and I was worried I was just done but then I became more careful with watching what I eat and making sure I get protein and the scale moved again. I'm also really confused that your GP apparently diagnosed you with something but you don't know the name of it. If you do actually have a condition that causes you to gain weight then you need to seek treatment for that.

    Studying or Reading post Surgery

I'm a university professor. I would have had the physical stamina to read or watch a lecture but for a couple weeks after surgery I felt like I was in a brain fog and couldn't focus. I also had an easy recovery with no pain. I did my surgery over winter break when I was off work and glad I did. However, I could have handled had I done it during the semester I just would not have been giving it my all.
  18. Where are you located? Maybe someone from here would be willing to help you out. We've all been through the process so understand how important this is. I'm sorry your husband can't see how selfish he is being.

    What is your biggest obstacle

Potato chips are my weakness. Unfortunately they're a slider food and also one of my favorite foods. I can still easily eat the whole bag if I let myself. I just keep myself away from them and so far that has worked as if they're not in the house I can't eat them.

    Fish for pureed/mushy stages?

You can use plain greek yogurt instead of mayo. I also hate mayo.
  21. From what you're saying it sounds like YOU are willing to do the work, but has he said this is 100% what he wants? This sounds manipulative IMO.

Does no one eat a cookie now and then??

I've had a cookie. The difference before I used to have multiple cookies and now I just have a couple bites of one. Also I might be the opposite of some others and I don't like using the "healthy" supplements for sweets like protein cookies. Instead if I really decide I want a treat then I go all out and occasionally have a cookie from the best place in town. If I'm going to eat something bad for me then I will make it worth it.

    Help‼️‼️

Don't weigh yourself multiple times a day. Everyone gains weight during the day. Weigh once a week at the most.
  24. Just give it time and it will pass.
  25. You look great and OMG I love your dress!
