    June Surgeries

I start my two-week liquid diet tomorrow so I'm going out for steak and beer for lunch today. I'm actually looking forward to beginning the diet but I know it'll be hard. I'm determined not to cheat at all but it's hard when you read about others who did not have to do two full weeks of liquid only and were still healthy enough for the surgery. I'm only 210 lbs so the diet seems extreme but I know I'll be more successful if I follow directions.

Yay for twins! Mine are only six, so they don't know what is coming but I'm sure they will notice when I stop buying the "good snacks" lol.

I'm scheduled for June 15 and start the liquid diet June 2. I am having way too many food funerals while waiting for June 2 to roll around- worried about gaining weight. Two weeks of all liquid is going to be hard but good for me.

    Gastric Sleeve BMI 35

I haven't been approved yet but I am eligible due to sleep apnea. I'm 5'1 & 210- 37 BMI. Have you done a sleep study?

    Denied Again

Yes, I had food logs, protein counting logs, exercise logs, tons of things that I had to do from my nutritionist. Hopefully their letter will work.

    Denied Again

Hi all, I was denied the first time because I gained a few pounds on the three-month supervised diet. I was/am a lightweight and I didn't want to drop below the 35 BMI. So they had me lose the weight I lost and they reapplied. Now I have been denied again. The language used is "The documentation does not support that you have fully committed to the medically supervised weight loss program that includes dietary and behavioral changes as well as exercise." I don't understand as I completed all that was asked of me in the nutrition sessions. Has this happened to anyone? Were you ever finally approved? My dietician is writing a letter for me explaining that I have been committed and have made the changes. Then they will reapply. I am just a little bummed out by all this. Thanks for any input!
  9. Hi all! Just needed a little encouragement. I just got denied (first time) for my VGS because I gained eight pounds during my three-month supervised weight loss. The reason I gained weight is that I was a "lightweight" at 205/5'2 and my nutritionist told me not to lose too much weight or I might be denied. Eight pounds isn't a big deal, I know, and they said I just need to come in and weigh when I have lost that. So now I think I'm going to try to practice the liquid liver-shrinking diet I'll need to do pre-surgery to drop those pounds. It's day one and only breakfast and I am starving, lol. Any tips or tricks to get yourself through the liquid diet? TIA.
