I did, I suffered badly with not being able to hold food down or protein drinks and I went to get an endoscopy and they discovered a slight stricture. They did the procedure where they inflate the opening so that your food can pass through easier. Honestly there was no discomfort and it was simple. Hey guys I really need some guidance and help right now. So I'm about 10 weeks post op and will be going to Myrtle Beach for a week with my family. I'm excited but I'm worried about food, anyone know places there that are bariatric friendly or ideas on what I should bring? It's just a simple hotel so all I can think is protein shakes? But with the stage I'm at am I able to eat protein bars? Or the meal replacement ones? Still not sure about snacks even though I'm not a snacker...any help would be appreciated. So I'm at a loss, the smell of food now makes me sick to my stomach especially when my family eats fast food. I struggled with eating because everything would come up, found out I had a small stricture. Had the procedure last week and have been trying to eat but nothing. Everything I've tried has come back up again and it tastes disgusting I mean just vile. The only thing that stayed down was refried beans from a local Mexican restaurant and when I eat Greek yogurt but I'm getting tired of it. I cant even drink my protein drinks they make me throw up mucus. I know this won't last for ever but I have no clue what to do and I'm hungry. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice? Any Bypassers in their 20s?
davis29 replied to MissSmartyPants's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I just recently turned 29 and had my bypass about 3 weeks ago. I'm in the pureed phase and since surgery ive drop about 30 pounds. Seeing as I really can't do much and barely eat as of now I've had a obsession reading, it's literally taken over my old habits, that's all I want to do. I'm really looking forward to shopping and falling in love with myself again, the thought of reinventing myself leaves me excited for the future. The process isn't easy but it's worthwhile. Good luck on your journey and dm if you need anything!!! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app -
You know I've researched for over a year, spent countless night watching other people's journey, taking class and I still feel as if I fell short. For the first time since my surgery (Jan 22nd) I broke completely down, I knew it was going to be hard but you never realize how truly difficult it is until you go through it. Tomorrow is my birthday and I've been a bit depressed so I got my favorite Indian dish pureed and just couldn't...it made me cry. The struggle of eating and constantly feeling it go to my stomach or swallowing to much air and getting gas, having to count and count and count. Don't forget the protein, don't forget to hydrate, or your vitamins. I want to do everything right but I feel like I'm coming up short. I can't stand the taste of any food or protein drink, trying to hydrate is a b***h because I keep thinking I'm going slow and end up getting bad cramps from it....and those monstrous bricks they call vitamins make me gag or vomit ugh. I know it'll get better I know this will pass but being in the present and feeling like I'm getting no where is killing me. And the mood swings don't make it any better...I'm incredibly sad or angry all the time. I don't regret this at all I just wish I could make the progress I'm supposed to be making and enjoy it. I've lost 25 pounds since surgery so I'm grateful for that, its just such a long and lonely process since no one around me understands. They say they do but they really don't.... just needed to vent. Thanks for listening. Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app

Feeling so unprepared...
davis29 replied to davis29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you...I don't stay far from where I had my surgery but because of covid they aren't allowing meetings. In fact this is my only support that I have as far as people who have had the surgery. And I know my sisters boyfriends mom had it but idk feel weird talking to her. But your message touched my heart and thank you for the birthday wishes Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Thank you for that it means a lot seriously, don't let my experience weaken your stance. I think this opportunity is amazing but it's also a lot of work, and I wish you luck as well on your journey! Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app -
I'm about 7 days post op and I'm finding it troubling to drink them. First few days was fine but now I can only stomach 2 to 4 oz a day. It's like after I drink it this taste floods my mouth and makes my stomach turn. I don't physically want to vomit but the taste makes me ill. It's as if drinking them now on an empty stomach makes me not want them at all. I have an appointment next Friday, any tips or suggestions? I feel like a failure just starting out Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app

So I am currently on my preop diet (surgery date: Jan 22nd) and my surgeon office requires low carb high protein diets. I just finished my first week and for the second I would like to do strictly liquids so that i can shed a few extra pounds and make sure my liver actually in shrinking. My question for those on a liquid diet, what should I be drinking or having that is good for liver shrinking? Protein drinks or meal replacement drinks? sugar free jello? or pudding? I just need a few ideas so I can plan accordingly and I was given the green light by my surgeons office so any tips or product recommendations would be much appreciated.

What to do while I wait for approval
davis29 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I am just waiting on approval for my surgery but I was wondering what I should be doing now to better prepare myself. For those who have already had the surgery what? advice can you give? If you could go back what are some things you wish you would have worked on more before getting the surgery? I research and what vlogs everyday but I still feel like I am missing something. Instead of stressing about if I will be approved or not or worse stress eating I want to do something productive with my time while I wait. -

Corona delaying weight loss surgery dates? Anyone?
davis29 replied to MaybeMeow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats so weird, my surgeon told me it could be sooner since lots of people are canceling cause of covid. But I'm waiting on insurance approval and insurance told me cause of covid approval will take longer than usual. Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi guys, So I have completed all of my requirements for surgery and had my decision appointment October 22nd. That day they were submitting my paperwork and gave me a surgery date of the second week of December. So I call my insurance a week later to see if they received it and if I was approved and turns out my paperwork hasn't even been submitted. So I call my surgeons office and they said they're waiting on psych to send them her part and then they could send it in. Mind you I had my psych appointment in September and she said I was fit for it and would submit her part. I wait another week and make the calls to see where I'm at, once again everyone is waiting on psych, I've called her office and left multiple messages and she does not respond, I'm trying not to get upset and discouraged but its really hard not to. So I talked to someone last week in the surgeons office who said they have issues with her all the time (then why do they recommend patients go through her) and that I'm not the only one. I've done my part and I'm upset that this woman wont respond to anyone. I now know that the date they picked for me wont happen and it sucks because I've planned everything around that date (my child care, job, etc) and now I'm stuck in limbo and insurance already said its going to take awhile. what should i do? any ever deal with this? This feels beyond unprofessional

So she finally called me today and made up some story as to why she didn't send it in almost 2 months ago. I thanked the supervisor, now it's headed to insurance and hopefully I'm approved Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app

I did speak with her supervisor and told her the situation and she's going to look into it and call me back. I'm in a small town but live in a medical district and there are plenty of places but for some reason since this is part of their branch they say its a must. Even though they have issues, hopefully it will be resolved this week. Will be leaving bad reviews all over all platforms. Sent from my SM-G981U using BariatricPal mobile app

I am scared that if I push she will retaliate by saying I am unfit for the procedure or something worse. I even asked my office If I could possibly see someone else and it has to be from that business. I even called the supervisor where she was and have not heard back.
