Nausea and light headedness 4 months post op
NewWorldMe replied to NewWorldMe's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you both. I am not on any other medicine except for vitamins and stomach lining protector. I will also check with my physician for advice. It does not matter how slow I stand up I have this feeling. -

Nausea and light headedness 4 months post op
NewWorldMe posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am searching for advice. About 1 month ago I started feeling light headed every time I stand. After about 2 to 3 weeks I started to feel nausea as well. My team says it is part of my body adjustments but I am nervous. Currently I have lost more tha half my volume of hair, everytime I stand I feel like I will pass out and my skin tears so easily that it is scary. I am wondering if anyone has any input to share. Thank you -

Diet from program includes bread for breakfast and lunch anyone else
NewWorldMe replied to NewWorldMe's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Is it crazy to say I will eat whatever is best to ensure I am successful. With my NUT there was no other options per day I should eat two moment of fruit plus bread, crackers, rice or potatoes with each meal. I am currently still only able to eat 80 grams of meat with each meal and I am full. When I eat vegetables I then only can consume half the meat. I eat my yoghurt and drink protein shakes and my 80 oz of fluid per day. I have no room for much else. Even the cracker and almonds I cannot do everyday and not with each meal. I know every plan is different and every body is different. I am still looking for the one that is right for me. -

I think for me it is difficult because I was never a huge bread, potato or rice eater. I also did not feel heard nor comfortable with my NUT. I have now incorporated keto friendly carbs and every other day almonds in my diet. My weight lose has not increased meaning I am still averaging about 1 kilo per week. I workout 6 days a week. I am still looking for ways to improve my weight speed but am also trying not to allow myself to become too frustrated by this. -

I am sorry to hear this. I understand the feeling and you are right that many can understand but they do not know if they have not experienced the same. It sucks in the strongest words possible. I was to have mine in March and arranged with my company for time off then Covid came and it was moved to September. Take today and as much time you need to be angry, dissappointed and feel whatever you wish then speak with the practitioner and see what they can tell you and when. You cannot control Covid and the impact but you can concentrate on what you need to do next and choose to not let this jeopardize any progress or strives you have made. Again I am sorry that this occurred to you

I agree with starwarsandcupcake, btw love the name. Great job for just asking for help and recognizing that a change is required. You can do this and even at the moments it may feel like you cannot you can. I would try the reset and make a list of thi gas you enjoy no matter what it is. Then choose one that is not relating to eating. It can be writing, drawing , singing, scifi, watching films, yelling, games, anything. It can be something you have never done but may be curious about. -

Thank you all for your feedback and support. The saga continues as they recommend carbs wholewheat crackers with tuna or chicken for breakfast and lunch and potatoes or rice with dinner. My weightloss is stuck at .8kg per week. I have told the NUT that I do not agree with the plan and have received no alternatives so I have opted to do it alone as the hospital team had no alternative. I am not ignoring carbs as they are in fruit, yogurt, etc but I do not feel good incorporating this into my daily diet. Hopefully I am making the right decision for myself -

I am wrestling with understanding if what I am doing is correct post gastric bypass. In the first few weeks the weight moved not very fast but faster than now. For the last 5 weeks I am losing on average between 1.5 to 1.75 pounds per week. I spoke to the dietician who first told me it was because I do not eat enough carbs and I should have rice cakes and then when I followed what she said (by adding a half of a rice cake a day) but there was no change she said I understood her incorrectly, which I do not understand as she put it in writing, and should use another plan and eat no carbs even though the other plan says start the day with toast or whole wheat crackers, I am allergic to gluten. If I am a slow loser then I just want to know if what I am doing is correct as I have pretty much started to do my own plan for the last two weeks. Is the amount I am losing post gastric bypass slow, is it a signal that something is wrong and how will I know? I am sorry for the length of this post. I have requested a different dietician and this will be discussed in January which means I am on my own for now.

There are many. Are you looking to go in the UK? -
I joined this group for the same reasons of sharing and learning and I have not been disappointed. Welcome to the journey. I had my operation on Sep 25.

Thank you all. I am having a day of frustration. In the last 2 weeks I have lost 3 lbs. Ok i did have a dumping incident where i could not eat for 3 days. I feel like a loser and not in the way I wish. I know it will happen but it does not make the process easier.

Help after Dumping still sick 20 hours later
NewWorldMe replied to NewWorldMe's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
By day 3 I could eat again but still a limited amount. I was also cheeky and tried a tablespoon of the food again and ate really really slowly. I should also add a disclaimer that since my dumping incident 4 days ago my staple food is still applesauce . Today was my first protein shake and that went well. I hope I will slowly get back to my new normal. Gtotheb hopefully we are through the hardest part of it. -

Thank you. I thought I was the only one where it lasted for two days and I could only stomach full liquids. I have had worse but when you are in it, it is extremely not a pleasant place to be. -
In the UK there are tons of places. I know in Cheshire and Yorkshire have community activities devoted to mining.
