    Do things really taste differently? How so?

    Things changed for me...especially drinks. I used to hate plain water and now anything else is way too sweet.

    OK- Don't Laugh

    You'll be fine, I run at least 3x a week and no issues yet. The only thing my doc recommends against is ab work before 3 month post-op.
  3. I ate whatever up until my pre-op diet. Now, my band truly tells me what I can and can't eat...it really doesn't like the *crap*. That is not saying though, that I won't have an occasional cookie or ice cream...not everyday though, because I don't feel good afterwards.

    Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

    B - nada L - 3/4c beenie weenies D - 1/2 pkg apple dippers, 1/2 pkg caramel dip, 1 kid's meal cheeseburger from McD's with only about 1/4 of the bun S - chocolate milk jug from McD's Sigh...I am at 41 net calories for the day (666 total) but I'm not hungry....maybe a protein shake?!

    July Butterflies Master Thread

    Hi all! I finally had my first official fill this past Wednesday day (the other was during surgery) and my first official episode of being stuck yesterday. And to think, I thought the fill did nothing:tongue2:. Thankfully the pain was gone in about 10 minutes, but it definitely told me to slow down and take smaller bites.     What have YOU lost?

    I've lost... 1.5 pounds = a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed donuts 5 pounds = a Chihuahua 20 pounds = an automobile tire
  8. I would follow your doctors orders...although you may feel fine on the outside, your inside is not healed yet and moving stages too early can lead to band problems.

    Had my first *official* fill Wednesday, so I'm on liquids. B - nada L - 3/4c loaded baked potato soup and 6 saltines D - 3/4c french onion soup with a few bites of soaked french bread and sprinkle of mozzarella

    Is this too much food?

    I think the amount is fine but I was told to take no more than 20-30 minute to eat because if you take longer, your pouch can start emptying allowing you to eat more. You may want to check with your doc on that.

    B - 1c multi-grain cheerios & 1/4c dried cherries (no milk) L - 1/2c cranberry chicken salad & 2 wheat crackers S - 3 buffalo chicken nuggets (jerky style) & 1oz colby jack D - 1/2 turkey burger (with about 1/2 the bun), a few cinnamon chipotle sweet potato fries and 1/4c creamed spinach exercise - 30 minutes of intervals

    I just pulled out my article that was ran several months ago in our base paper and it only says 1 comorbid. I dunno...I only had 1 comorbid and was approved back in June.

    Thanks, I suppose it could have been worse:smile2: It was pretty hot. I like spicy foods but it was definitely the hottest thing I have had since not being able to drink with meal (that could be too why it tasted hot...LOL). It was good though!

    Thanks! I used to be addicted to ice cream, preband...last night it was way to sweet for me. I suppose that is a good thing:thumbup: Thank you for the recipe! I love hummus but my local store doesn't carry any worth buying. I take really small bites and chew like crazy. I also like the beef nuggets, which are way more tender. I drink a big glass of water after my shower at 7:00am and then eat breakfast once I am at work, around 8:30am. I eat snacks right now because I am hungry...I hope after another fill I can knock them down to only after workouts.

    Anyone up for training for their 1st 5k?

    I use Robert Ullrey's Couch to 5K podcast which is basically the same thing. I ran a 5K last December but then quit running, so I recently started the program back up.

    Easy veggie side dishes?

    I love roasted veggies...a little olive oil and S&P, 350 for 20-30 minutes. My daughter LOVES green Beans that way. I also roast asparagus...olive oil, salt and lemon pepper. The last 5 minutes of cooking, I sprinkle Parmesan cheese over them.

    Thanks kimaly! It's okay, God obviously trusts me (I only wish he didn't trust me so much:-). I called today and I go in on the 1st. I'm not sure if I will end up with a fill or not, but I sure hope so. My rumbling tummy less than an hour after I ate in staff meeting is rather embarrassing:thumbdown:
