I have the Nike+ for the ipod and love it! I first used a Marware pouch and hated it. Then I found the RunAway and love it! Introducing RunAway

Unless it has changed in the last month since I was in the Tricare office, they don't usually. There has to be a medical necessity and a long battle.

Dyess was our first base and where my munchkin was born...I'll alway have fond memories of that place!

I have Tricare Prime South and it was less than 2 months from PCM visit to banding next week. That was even with a 3 week hold up with the PCM (not Tricare).
-
Hi all, it ia great to hear these updates! I had all my pre-op appts today for my banding on the 22nd. I found out lots of things that put my mind at ease. My dr allows straws. I knew I only had a 2 day pre-op full liquids diet, but I also learned that he typically only requires one week of each 5 stages post op...YAY! Of course, he will change this if he isn't happy with what he hears/sees at the 1 week follow up. 7 weeks in he does a fill. My husband can stay overnight with me and I will most likely get cleared to get back in my pool at 1 week post op. That I am most thrilled about, that is my relaxtion during the summer.

I will be banded on the 22nd by Dr. Nye at Baptist in Pensacola. I live in Niceville.
-
In about a month, I could tell you an insurance figure for Dr. Nye at Baptist. I can't help on the self pay though...just call up and ask.
-
I saw this on a couple of other monthly forums and thought it would be neat to do here. Where are you from? I'm in Niceville, FL (yes, it is nice to live here:-). It's in the panhandle, between Pensacola and Panama City, 10 minutes from Destin and Fort Walton Beach.

My doc wants me taking 2 Flinstones (or the like chewable vitamins) and 500mg of clcium 3x a day. I use the Viactiv.

Hi all! I'm Lacey, AF wife of 9 year (well, he's been in 9 and we will have been married 9 on the 31st). We are stationed at Eglin AFB, FL. We have a 6 year old little girl who keeps us on our toes. I am a creative arts assistant part-time at our church and recently gave up my photography business after getting a cancer diagnosis. I just simply can't keep up with everything anymore. I can't wait to get to know everyone!

Sick time?Vacation time?
thatDEgirl replied to curvesincali's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am using some sick hours, but I am lucky to work from home most of the week anyway, so I won't be giving up many sick hours. They don't expect me physically back in office till a week post-op if I am able. -
These are the main two I have seen, I hope one is it! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/post-operation-lap-band-surgery-questions-answers-new/66923-shopping-list-surgery.html http://www.lapbandtalk.com/july-2008-bandsters/67903-pre-surgery-shopping-list.html

Took Excedrin now freaking out!
thatDEgirl replied to monicasf's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is what my doctors says and also that they have a higher risk of causing ulcers. -
Who or what did you do this for????
thatDEgirl replied to NANAbanded's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
First and foremost I did it for me, but a close second is my 6 year old little girl. I was diagnosed with a form of leukemia back in February and it puts me at greater risk of other forms of cancer. I also have bad cancer genetics and obesity raises that risk as well, so we are trying to take out whatever risk factors we can. -
tricare approval, and BAM SURGERY TIME!!
thatDEgirl replied to deanntucker's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I requested the referral from my PCM May 13th. Consult with surgeon June 3rd, nut eval June 6th, pysch eval June 9th. Submitted to Tricare June 11th, kicked back because PCM messed up the wording of the referral. Phone tag with her, referral finally fixed by her on June 25th and submitted to Tricare again. Approved June 27th. It would have been extremely quick if my PCM had actually listened to what I needed instead of being a pain. -
Bipolar 2 and the wait time to get lapband?
thatDEgirl replied to Mariposa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am bipolar type 2, with rapid cycling and the pysch that did my eval is not the pysch I see for therapy. I told him about my diagnosis, we talked about it for a bit and he had no issues. I am not a major risk though, I only cycle about every 2 years for about 3 months. -
Cigna Refused Insurance, Need Lawyer
thatDEgirl replied to ksjxtra1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not sure what their policy manual states, but if it is not listed as a covered procedure, they have every right to deny it. Unfortunately... -
If you have not had a fill yet, you most likely aren't going to have any restriction. Some people come out of surgery with a bit of restriction, but most do not.

Tricare Prime has denied me
thatDEgirl replied to AZArmyWife36's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
According to the Tricare printout I have in front of me, you have to be 100 pounds overweight PLUS comorbids or 200% or more of you ideal weight. I wouldn't think a 35.6 would apply!? -
Tricare Prime Approved!!...But Outpatient Surgery??
thatDEgirl replied to Mommie_of_4's topic in Insurance & Financing
All Tricare required for me was nut/pysch eval. My surgeon requires bloodwork and an EKG which is covered by Tricare. I don't know about the in/out patient thing, my surgeon requires an overnight stay. -
Congrats, that is my date too!
