Yikes, I live on the gulf coast in Florida (typically 90-100 with 70-90% humidity...and the highest my bill has been this summer is $220. That's with the house at 75 during the day and 73 at night. Our house must be really well insulated, thank goodness. It's a brand new a/c unit so I am sure that helps too along with our energy saving bulbs, etc.

Well, that depends are you prime or standard? With standard, you don't need the referral and can go to the tricare website and find a covered doctor. You do need a PCM referral for prime though.

*bump* Any takers? Also, if your port flipped did you feel any pain? I turned over in bed a few nights ago and had extreme pain wake me up. Since then when I bend over, my port area has a burning sensation...I am wondering it I broke a stitch or what?!

Nuts and jerky, both of which I NEVER ate before.

At first I only told my husband, mom (regretted it), 2 close friends and a few people at work. Later, I ended up outing myself on my blog. I need the support and I also figured that if I can help 1 person on their journey, it will be worth it.

Well, I suppose it could be but my dr is a straight shooter and was very concerned about it. I'd say half of my first consult was us talking about our marriage, expectations with the surgery, etc. I think it is high in this area not only because of the WLS but this is also a very large military area. Long deployments wreak havoc on marriages alone.

I'm 5'3" and my goal is 160. Still high for my height but with chemo and a bone marrow transplant in my future, we don't want me too small.

Mine is crazy but I also have PCOS, so weight issues (good or bad) always affect it. I take bc straight through, only having cycles every 3 months. I still have 1.5 months before I should be getting my cycle and yet I am having breakthrough bleeding right now at 3.5 weeks post-op.

I can't weigh in with any real advice since we are in the beginning for me but my surgeon did warn me that the divorce rate after WLS is very high. In his practice it is 99%...he now urges marital counseling for all his patients before and after surgery.

There are many good doctors in Mexico. My concern would be aftercare though. Many doctors stateside won't take patients that they didn't operate on. Do you have an aftercare doctor lined up already or funds set aside for travel back to Mexico?

I am sorry they are being a PITA. One things I have learned along the years with Tricare is, keep ALL paperwork and proof!

My maternal grandmother was very large and my Mom can be heavier but also loses quite fast. My sperm donor is big boned and heavy, I am an exact replica of him. I also have medical issues that have helped pack on the pounds.

My surgeon himself follows all his patients for at least 5 years after surgery. He does his own fills as well.

B - nothing, I wasn't feeling too well L - 3oz tuna salad and 1oz colby jack cheese S - 1oz chili lime almonds D - 3oz southwest chicken soup and 1oz Mexican cornbread S - 100 calorie slim-a-bear ice cream bar
