    Pounds lost 1st year

    these messages give me so much hope . Im only 3 weeks out and lost about 12 lbs. Im in bandster hell hoping to get first fill next week. im supposed to be on mushies, tried a bit of real food , and everything went down fine. Thanx for the light at the end of the tunnel!
  3. I found that its much easier to go Costco and pick out dinners in the freezer that they can put in the oven and prepare themselves. I don't want to have to touch the meals- i'm afraid I will want to eat it!My kids are teenagers so they can fend for themselves.Or, a bowl of cereal always works! they aren't starving!!!!!!

    Potato Salad - BAAAAAAAD!

    Im in the mushie stage also and that sounds like a lot of food! Im allowed 4 Tablespoons of food per meal. And I agree- potato salad isnt too mushie; try mashed instead.

    Frustrated

    Im exactly where you are. Got banded on the 17th and by the following week I lost 11 lbs. and still havent lost for the last 4 days. Im getting 75 gr protein, tiny meals 64 oz fluid and very frustrated. just started walking today, so keeping my fingers crossed it happens soon.Im very hungryso I guess this is bandster hell!I do feel thinner, so that keeps my hopes up a bit. good luck!!!
  6. Im trying to get this.... Im on mushies, only a few tblspns at a time, and Im supposed to do 20 gr protein mixed w/ milk btwn each meal. Do I get this with the protein powders? Im able to handle the 64oz. fluids by sipping, sipping etc. Am I on the right path??? Lost 11 lbs. in the first wk post op. feeling good-but starving at times. MY nut tells me I wont be hungry if I get the required protein in. Suggestions:cursing:

    protein 60-90 grams

    I am only allowed 4 oz of milk to mix the protein into. just picked up choc chip mint flavor to try 25gr per scoop. my nut swears that if I get my # servings in each day, tht I wont b hungry. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  8. I beginning to wonder if I made the right decision to get banded... Im starving!!!! I made it throught the 1st wk on liquids. Now I'm on pureed food and only allowed 3Tablespoons at each meal and its supposed to take 30 min to eat. I dont get it. I'm so hungry, and I cant find a protien powder that tastes good. Also supposed to have 20 gr. protein for BLD. what am I doing wrong? I feel no restriction and I feel like I can eat a ton of food. All I think about is food all day!!!!

    Actually now I am confused... I don't know if I'm supposed to have anything btwn meals(my 3 Tblspns) except for fluids. thats why I'm soo Hungry I don't know how toget the protein in that I need

    Protein drinks

    i found in costco- primier protein drink. it only comes in chocolate, but tastes like yoohoo. 30grams per can-lowfat and carbs. not expensive eithet.
  11. Im on pre op now. All liquid shakes. Ive cheated a little: egg white omlet( all protein), low fat cheese stick(0carb), and low fat cottage cheese(0carb). helped to take away the headaches and to feel human again.
  12. I am also on the liquids.-in the second week of it, with surgery on the 23rd. I found these high protein shakes in Costco: 30 gr of protein, low sugar and low fat and they are good!they are made by Premier, and not expensive. my DR. said no to slimfast-very high in sugar. so far Ive lost 10 lbs. doing 2 shakes per day. can have more, but dont have hunger anymore. the first week was hard- thought ablout food constantly, now Im ok. good luck to evryone- hope this helps.

    February '09 bandsters?

    my pre op testing was done on feb 11th, and im on the preop diet of all liquid proteins now. see doctor again on 20th for weigh-in and surgery is sceduled for the 23rd. getting nervous, but ready to get healthier .
