:ohmy:It is allergies season and I have had my fourth fill which brings me to 4.5cc in an 8 cc band. I just got off an antibiotic and was just given cough medicine for the cough and a nasal spray for the nasal drip. I take one zyrtek a day as well. I have major plegm which seems to be blocking what I drink. I can get some down but not much then it gets blocked and comes back up. I seem ok after I drink something hot but it builds up again. It does seem to get better everyday but it is hard for me to get my meds down that I need to take everyday. How do I get rid of the phlegm? has anyone else gone through this?? Will iot get better or am I going to feel this way through the rest of the season?? Thanks:ohmy:

I was wondering what the time Dr A tells people between fills. One poster who lives close to me in Severna Park told her 3 months for her 2nd fill. Is this right?

Ok it has been very frustrating to figure this our so has anyone receievd this info yet? I may be jumping the gun but need to know before I lose my mind. On a 1200 calorie diets what is the breakdowns of protein, carbs and fat?? I get too many answers from too many sites. I will be starting real food on Thursday and even though I haven't gotten my first fill I want to start eating right. I have followed Richard Simmons/ diabetic exchanges but it doen't give all of the breakdowns and seeing % doens't help me when it says % I am very math challeneged. Could someone please help me? -
Hi I was banded on June 12 in Baltimore and tomorrow I start week three with pureed foods. I have only lost 8 pounds. I thought that since I didn't have to do a pre-op diet that the liquids would have helped me lose more. week one and two I was allowed, sf pudding, sf Jello, cream of wheat, Soup, low fat milk, Protein shakes, sf popsicles, tea yada yad yada I keep being told this is only healing time but I had higher hope. I wasn't told to limit anything. I have read that since the op that many can't even drink a glass of Water. I can drink 8 oz no prob...it just goes right through, I don't feel anything right now which I know is supposed to be that way. I start pureed foods tomorrow and am afraid I will gain weight instead of losing since solids are coming even though I am aloowed to only eat 3-4 tablespoons every four hours. I am just so scared that this will not work for me, that I will be the one person that it will fail on. I know I am just feeling sorry for myself. I know this is a tool, but I guess I need to hear from those who have had the same experiences as I have to know I will be ok. My first fill isn;t until week 6. I am hoping that if I am good with my soft foods that I will see success. I did go towards the puddings more that I did other stuff, so the calories probably added up. I wish I would have had a maximum allowed instead of having a free and open menu amount. Even my burps are dry where so many seem to have wet burps. I am feeling afraid. I saw the band when they did the drink flow test on xray so I know it is there. I just don't feel anything anymore, no restriction or anything, is it possible it slipped? Please someone help me dry these tears. I self paid which is also weighing on my mind. :blushing:

I know I have a few weeks until real food but what is the percentages for the diet I know right now I have to eat a minimum of 50 grams of Protein and on mushies I am getting about 70 but: what is the recommendations for fats and carbs? I haven't been told calories needed yet either but from other who go where I do it sounds like 1000 to 1200 cals. I am not doing that on mushies, I get close to 1000 Any help would be good or should I just wait until I see my nut?

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I was just having a pity party for myself and needed to hear that others are out the there too. I guess the other probelm is that so many think that this is supposed to be like bypass and the wieght just falls off. My sister is trying to get bypass but lapband was what I wanted and I need to remember the reasons why I chose the band over the sleeve or bypass. I didn't want malnutrition or my stomach cut. I knew what I was getitng into. I just see so many and have met mant who 6 months out have gone from size 24 to size 8 and that would be a dream come true...but I never have had the time to ask how hard or easy it was to get to that point. I was told an average of 3-4 pounds a week in the first few months then 1-2 when I get to about half or 3/4 of my weight gone. Is this wrong???? I guess I should feel lucky...one person is doing liquids for 21 days...I at least didn't have to do that. That is true will power and I commend all of you on your journey and your help. Thanks -
I was on June 12th :rolleyes2:

Howdy all I was just banded on June 12 at St Agnes Hospital in Baltimore by Dr. Averbach. I have read my many that they are having issues through the first two weeks and I am not any different. I can have broth, Protein shakes, strained Soup, SF pudding & Jello, SF yogurt or yogurt drinks, SF popsicles and milk I am being told that this is a healing time and since all of this will grow thorugh easily I will not be full so there is no limit to these foods, of course the bulk of my proteing should be from shakes which it has been. I have lost a few pounds because of this but again am being told this is a healing time. I just feel like I am doung something wrong. I fell good, a few incisions still hurt and pull but overall unless I burp, I can't even tell I had surgery. Like all of oyu I have done everything else and this is I am praying the answer to all my prayers. Good Luck to all and it will be nice getting to know all of you. Debbie L
