I'm at 3 months also and found pork was one of my triggers for now. I test ate small amounts of soft pork (tenderloin, roast) a couple times and was ok but then as I started eating it as a full on meat for dinner I threw up every time. When talking to my nutritionist she told me that pork has more connective tissues than chicken and it's harder for us to digest. So the tiny amounts I ate was probably ok since I didn't each much meat at all back then, but once I started eating more it just sat there filling my pouch more and more. I'm allowed to officially have pork in a couple months though so I'm hopeful I can enjoy it again then.

Discouraged about protein intake
AJaymon replied to sbmcg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you tried your unflavored protein in whatever you like to drink normally? I use Unjury unflavored protein powder that way. I take 2 tablespoons and shake it up with a little water (I just use a small tupperware for it), then I add it to my 30oz glass of whatever I'm drinking: orange crystal light, orange crush powder, sunkist lemon lime powder, grape kool aid water enhancer drops, etc. I never taste the protein powder this way at all. No chalk, no chunk, nothing icky. And I get 26 grams of protein per drink this way. -
9 days post-op and nauseous
AJaymon replied to aubrey_'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry, I know that sucks. I had a bypass and for me it was around 2 weeks before the daily nausea went away. And the same before I could sleep in my bed instead of the recliner due to the pain with turning/twisting. After that though I quickly got better. It was like one day I couldn't easily get up out of a recliner and then 2 days later I was back on the treadmill. So for me at least, it was normal. As for getting through the nausea my biggest hurdle was getting enough fluid. All my usual fav drinks were making me even more nauseas. I ended up just trying a glass of everything I could think of until I found one that worked. Once I found that is when I started feeling better. Oh, and I also went through a lot of sugar free peppermints so I could suck on something when my mouth tasted gross. Probably not the best choice for someone with candy addictions, but it helped a lot. I really do hope you find something soon that works for you. And as always, if you aren't sure which way to turn then think about reaching out to your medical team. If they are like mine then they are happy to help.
