    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Yes prior to surgery all sugar free did that to me my whole life. Then the sugar free pops and sugar free jello were ok. I always had a bad reaction to splenda. The only sugar free post surgery I can think of doing this is my gum (I quit smoking) so I chew sugar free gum, which must be the problem. So now what lol. I don't want to smoke again, I don't want to stay in the bathroom for hours. I guess I will have to chew on air lol.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Hi all I finally found my April buddies I had bypass on 4/14 and the first few weeks like other stated I didn't go to the bathroom at all. Now the last 2 week I can't stop, I was told to take immodium. I have a history since I was young of IBS and even when I was an athlete, I worked with gastro docs and I really didn't want to rely on medicine again. I just can't do anything else. It is totally interfering with just leaving the house. I started to work out again with a trainer but had to cancel 2x b/c of this. I am getting my water in and protein, I'm still on soft foods and feel week. I spend way too much time in the bathroom or if the immodium works tooting something awful. Anyone have this problem?
  3. Thank you so much for replying I feel better. I had the lap band a long time ago (removed 5 years later) so I know that full feeling you are talking about and in the beginning of soft food I felt it too so I was worried that it was gone. The diarrhea they said and probably is true is my IBS acting a fool, I've had IBS since I was in high school and was an athlete so I am sure beans are not helping. I also think it's probably from sugar free which always bothered me. And I have to chew sugar free gum to help with not smoking. Some days it's just so mentally exhausting you feel like F it but I keep trucking along. Thanks again and congrats on your loss and for so long that's very commendable!!

    No effect on me?

Then you should see my doctor's FB group, everyone praises him as a hero, and says how awesome everything is. I am like we are doing the work by the way lol. Not having problems or not feeling that my pouch is getting kind of made me worried that I stretched it or something. I had bypass 4/14 and on soft foods and I feel like I can eat a little more than I'm supposed to with no problem and don't feel as full.
  5. In the beginning when I started to eat I would feel my pouch fill up, now I don't. I was wondering if it was the soft foods or I was afraid I stretched my stomach already. Weight loss stalls then goes then stalls. Then my stomach will act up and I need immodium or I can't leave home. Just frustrated but I guess it's normal. Just wanted to see what anyone else's thoughts /experiences were. Bypass was done 4/14

    Nicotine test

Yes I did the patch and 0% nicotine vape which I barely used and I was a pack a day smoker I did this 3/31 and my surgery was 4/14 no problem. I did tell them I was on the patch and to deal with it. They said the blood work would show if it was cigarettes versus the patch, so I guess I passed. Now I am still struggling since it's been since 3/31 and I find it harder then the food restrictions to stay quit.

    3 Week freakout (post-op)

OMG I was just researching this exact question. After 3 weeks I'm stuck and I'm having the right amount of good protein, over 64 ounces of water, etc. Following everything I was told, I just got cleared to exercise so I started strength training and nothing. Granted I only went to the bathroom 4 times in 4 weeks. But 600-800 calories and no scale movement really got to me today and depression/anxiety can wreak havoc. I'm not happy others have the same but to not be alone is a relief. I was like I am doing something wrong or I failed again.
