Cantweight-you and i are on about the same path however you're a little further along then myself. I too am 5'8'' beginning weight of 266 current weight is 218 and my ending goal also is between 150 to 160. good luck on the continued journey.

Good to hear from everyone. I normally check in everyday at lunch, but if you look at the time on this post...you can see i can't sleep...woke up at 3am...so i'm up posting. I love my band and usually feel that I'm doing pretty good with my loss and then i read some of your post. You guys are doing so good. I've had 2 fills, the last being Jun 12th, ready for another, but going out of town next week so it'll have to wait until i return. I feel that i can eat anything. Some things seem to get stuck a little but I seem to be able to eat a pretty large portion before i feel full. But with all said its still the best thing that i've done for myself. chat soon.

omg....now i have to stare at his lips the next time i go in. Hope he doesn't notice. we're older but not dead. lol

I'm with you...this forum has been a lifesaver for me. Each time i feel that i'm alone i can always find many more with the same issues. 20 lbs is nothing to sneeze at. I've slowed down tremendously. good luck

YOU GO!!! I'm two years from 50. But you have a great idea...i think that i'll start planning my cruise now. Won't it be wonderful to be much healthier by 50. it truely will be fab. NOT GOING TO LIE...1st month is hard, but you can do it. Plus you will probably loose quickly during this time. Good luck & keep us posted.

Wendy, you pass my home and workplace everyday...i assume you take the parkway into Hsv. I lived in Fayettville for 15 years but moved back to HG July 2005. I miss living in Tn. (Al state taxes-omg). You are doing so well. I have slowed down a lot...but as soon as i get back from DC i will get another fill and hopefully be a looser once again. keep in touch.

It was at the Medical Mall in the gym. I went with a friend whom got banded by a Huntsville doc. It was actually set by her doc group...she and i where the only one's there with the band out of about 30 people. I felt out of place. With this growing...how hard can it be to get a group going. Why aren't the doc's or nutritionist behind this? You know most church's will let you use a room for this type of group. Now with that said, I was pm'd this morn by another poster whom said that her doc group is trying to set up a group in hsv. she said that she would post when she finds out more. Yea...We are someBODY!!!!

HA,ha,he,he--so funny. I have to say i also was drawn to his appearance. As my 24 year old Down Syndrome daughter says..."HE'S CUTE-IF-FUL.

Alabama Bandster here. Mackie, did you get your band...hope all is well??? As for support groups, i wish Huntsville had one. I went to what i thought was to be a support group in H'ville but it turned out to be mostly gastric patients. Nothing in common...i want to talk with those whom has had my choice of weight loss surg. If you know what i mean. I'm glad for them but i felt as if i was getting funny looks when i spoke of the lapband. nevermind, that several gastrics are signing up for lapband now. Hope i'm not talking out of place. good luck all.

Hey Tina, Karley, Andy & all, Dr Britt did my surgery. I have no idea what size band i have...but i will find out the next time i go in for a fill. I'm not feeling much restriction currently but i'm leaving for DC next week and would rather be close to home for at least two weeks after a fill. I'm really looking forward to another fill as i've only had 2 since my surgery. Good to talk to the locals...i live in Hazel Green, Al & work in Meridianville, Al. Good luck to all.
