I had never hear of these and did a Google Search on the main ingredient Glucomannan. Might want to get it okayed by your Dr. or nutritionist is you are going to have these on a regular basis. Some people have had problems with choking due to the product absorbing a lot of water and swells once injected. The Glucomannan is a root and has been shown to be helpful in weight loss and is available in pill form. Recommended to drink lots and lots of water with this product. There are cautions for people with some health conditions. It cannot be taken by anyone who has problems with their esophagus. It can be dangerous for diabetics as it can alter the insulin requirements. Should never be given to children. The sale of Glucomannan has been banned in some countries. Since it is a diuretic, plan on frequently needing access to a bathroom. i think I will stick with spaghetti squash.

6 days post banding and STARVING - Is this normal?
Ani replied to NerdyGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded 8/4 and was not hungry at all the first 2 days. I have been really really hungry on full liquids. I wake up in the middle of the night hungry/ I have even dreaming about food and being at a restaurant where nobody ever comes to wait on me or there is food sitting it front of me and it isn't mine, somebody hadn't finished their meal. Yesterday made egg drop soup using cream of mushroom soup and that seemed to do the trick. I figured that was better than eating something like the 1/2 gallon of ice cream in the freezer. I have been on so many starvation diets this brings back a lot of old memories. I am afraid of drinking too much as I do not want to stretch my pouch but I do not feel restricted at all. Glad to hear i am not alone. -
I am being banded tomorrow. Excited the time has finally come. This 2 day pre-surgery diet has been hard. I am really, really, really hungry...I could eat my shoes. I am also exhausted and have a headache, I think that may be from low blood sugar. Anyone else have this experience?
