  1. Welcome!!

I am fairly new myself and this is a wonderful source for support and guidance. I live in Alabama but was banded in Chattanooga on June 2nd of this year. I have bc/bs of alabama and had to jump through hoops with the 6 months diet thing and exercise at the YMCA at Shallowford. For what I understand your BMI is not the only determining factor. Other factors such as sleep apnea,bp,diabetes and others can effect their decision. Hope this helps.

  2. Hey everyone, sounds like are all having our problems lately. Mine is that my surgeon will not tell me how much he put in my 10cc band on my first fill, says he does not want me to concentrate on that part. Some days I feel like I have restriction and some days not. The nurse at the surgery center I use says he is very conservative with his fills and not expect anything with the first fill. So I have put in a call for another fill in two weeks.

Sorry about the length on this post, but it is really frustrating when I see posts about how much everyone has in their band and I don't have any idea what is in mine.

  3. Mandyjo

I had them about 5 years ago. Long before my lapband, but it was a light case. It started with the left side of my stomach getting numb and then the left side of my back started to itch. It took about two weeks of medication to get rid of them. There is a thery that you cannot get them again, but I am not sure. I have heard of people who have had lots of pain for a long period of time but it may depend on how long they waited to be diagnosed. I was told to stay away from pregnant women while I was infected because it can cause some kind of birth defect. It really bothered me at the time because I was substiute teaching for a pregnant teach at the time. But everything was fine. Hope this helps.

  4. Hi all,

I went to my first post op nutrition appointment this afternoon and found out some news that I don't know if is good or bad. My dr. is very conservative with his fills. I have a 10cc band and he will only put at most 3 cc's in for first fill. I glad I found all this out today, but am worried about being able to lose consistantly with this small of a fill. Any thoughts.

  5. Congratulations Naruto, I was banded in Chattanooga last month by Dr. Rose. It is wonderful to have support from your spouse, it makes all the difference. The pain will be over soon and you will be on your way to a new chapter in your life. I can already tell the difference in the way I feel and I haven't had a fill yet.

    God Bless.

  6. Loved your video. I live just north of Scottsboro and wanted to go this weekend but dh had to work. I worked in Chattanooga several years ago and they were practicing over where I worked. Didn't get much work done that day...Kept going outside to watch.
