Hi I was also banded recently and feel the same as you, no restriction. Having been to a couple of group meetings with past bandsters they all say until you get your first fill you wont really feel much different. This time is for your body to heal. I am just trying to be carful i dont overeat. Stick with it. Jue:thumbup:

Well its done. Banded on Wednesday at Sprire Hospital in Bristol and it couldn't have gone any better. First time i have had a General and cant believe in the space of being out of it for one hour my whole life will change. By change i mean i can now look forward to the future instead of dread it. Dread Holidays, Xmas parties, Weddings and generally anything that means i stand out. :tongue2:

Well i am on my Yoghurt diet now and i am not finding it too bad. I am very busy at the moment so managing to keep my mind off the fact that i am just eating Yoghurt. Started this process at 24st 8lb (156.5kg, 344lb)and was told i needed to lose some weight before th op would go ahead. Now 5 days to go and i am down to 22st 10lb. (144.5kg, 318lb). I worked very hard to lose this weight i lost as i dont want any reason the op cant go ahead. Still wondering how i will manage without Pepsi Max in my life. I have been drinking it flat and it tastes better than nothing so i think thats how i will have to cope. Any words of support or guidance would be greatly appreciated as i have been totally inspired by the stories and comments i have read on this site.:tongue2:

Op 1st Oct, Excited & Nervous.......

So Vixon you did end up putting on more weight drinking Pepsi Max And you wont lose that extra weight for at least 18 years..... One more question to ask anyone who has been banded. Can you drink enough with a band to get drunk? I know this seems a daft question but if you arent eating so much, and eventually weighing less, do you get drunk easier or do you have to cut down the quantity you drink because you cant be sick:tongue_smilie:. I dont relly really overdo the drink but i do like a few glasses and would miss the woooooosie feeling if i can only drink one glass of wine. I know booze is high in calories but for special occasions only!!!!! -

Thanks for the support. I am one of those people who drink pints and pints of water/pepsi a day. Will i still be able to do this when i am banded? -

Being Banded in Bristol on 1st October, Advice needed!!
Wizbeeward posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi All I am booked in to be banded in Bristol on 1st October. I am starting to plan my Pre-op Yogurt diet but am not sure what drinks i can have. I am thinking of doing the diet for two weeks as i carry a lot of my weight around my middle and the consultant said the Yogurt diet would help with the excess fat around my liver, thus making the op easier. Can anyone tell me what drinks i will be able to have during this diet time? Is it just fat i have to avoid? Thanks -
I looking at being banded in The Spire Hospital in Bristol and wanted to know if anyone has any experience of the op there????:tt2:

Making my first appointment for a consultation at the beginning of August. Hopefully banded towards the end of Sept or beginning of Oct. Have you been banded yet or are you still looking into it?

:huh2:Sorry if i sound a little dim, i am doing still looking into having a lap-band fitted, what causes a liver to swell? and how do you shrink it? Without pre-op test would i know if i have a swollen liver?

I am looking into getting a band fitted through AOS and wondered if anyone had any experiences they could share with me. Thanks
