    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

The surgery/pain was a walk in the park! Way better than I ever anticipated! The weight loss is slower than I thought it would be, but I am losing and happy! It's the perfect time (during co-vid) to concentrate on me. Come April when the world starts looking better, so will we!!! How about everyone else?
  4. This is for those that that are 3 months or more post op and still losing. what does your normal/average day look like for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks? What are you eating and what size per meal/snack? thanks in advance!

A normal day of food post op?

Wow, that's impressive! What are you eating these days? Yes, most of us on here I think have to watch what we eat for the rest of our lives. I have to measure out my consumption or I think I would go over. I also use the food tracker because it makes me think about calories, fat and carbs. Surprising it is enough!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I had the band, not the sleeve, but also had the revision due to reflux and heartburn. It is like night and day. I can lie flat now! I couldn't do that for so long! I can have liquid or something to eat and lie on my couch....couldn't do that without food or liquid coming up. I would throw up at least twice a day and I was always woken up at night to have to get the reflux out of my system. I now sleep through he night! And have zero pain. I can have tomato soup and tomato sauce! Take away the weight loss that comes from the bypass, the revision was over the top worth it to not feel pain and have to throw up all the time. You will be so happy!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

That’s not bad...a bit high in carbs...is that from the PB? just think...4 shortbread cookies would be 300 cal, 16g fat, 34 carb and 4gprotein. At this time of year that would be easy to pop in our mouth as previously!

Oh man, that sucks! Be careful with Covid as you are recovering. are you watching macros? That doesn’t sound bad? What were the macros on that?

    Am I losing too slowly?

But you have lost 26.6kg in 2 months? That is like 60 pounds! That is a lot! Jump for joy, Girl!!!

    Am I losing too slowly?

Yes, it seems I need to lower the expectations! I did Dr. Bernstein diet (800 calories) and lost 15 pounds per month so I thought for sure I would lose the same at 500-600. It's ok...in 1 month I will be better than today. And so on....its not bringing me down! I've got this!

    Am I losing too slowly?

You are right. Someone told me their last 15 pounds was about 1 pound a month for a year.

    Am I losing too slowly?

You are consistently losing so that is success! My loss is slow also compared to others I see on here. I am at 2 weeks post surgery (surgery weight 188.8), consuming 500 - 650 calories a day, walking 30 minutes twice daily and down 7 pounds at 181.4. So maybe my weight loss will only be 12 - 14 pounds a month. But it is still weight loss. We will get there! The important part is 1) we did it and 2) we are following what the program.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I had some issues the first 3 days. But since I have been regular - way smaller but regular. I checked in when I had issues at 3 days and was told after 2-3 days if nothing, we should be taking a stool softener. Apparently it is very common but should not let it go past 3 days. Walking helps as well.

A normal day of food post op?

Interesting! I paid for my surgery so not sure my surgeon will have much insight on OHIP - however, I do go to the clinic next Wednesday to get my stiches out so I will ask the nurses. I am still a good 6 months out so I will be contacting you when I have lost my weight!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I'm sorry to hear. You trusted them and they aren't there for you. That just sucks. I didnt tell a soul except for 1 girlfriend who we had the lapband together. She may also be doing the revision so it kind of worked. My clinic would not do surgery unless I had a witness signing my documents and someone picking me up after surgery. So I had to tell 1 person. Otherwise, I would say nothing. People are funny. I didn't want any questions or sabotage. I'm on this journey with all of you!!! We are here for you EMT!!

This is what I did today and all went well: 7:30am- 9:30am-decaf coffee with 1tbl of skim milk. 16 oz of water. 9:30am: 1 hard boiled egg smashed up with a teaspoon of low fat miracle whip i then waited 30 minutes before any water. 10am-11am- one hour of water. 16oz 12pm: 1/4 cup refried beans (fat free), with fat free cottage cheese and 1tablespoon of shredded/puréed chicken. Total meal was 1/2 cup. I ate very slow over about 20-25 minutes. 1pm-2pm- just an hour of water. 16 oz. 30 minute walk decaf tea and water. 4pm - 85g small tin of flavoured tuna with 1 tablespoon of low fat red pepper and tomato soup. Wait 30 minutes to drink water. 1 hour of water. 30 minute walk 6:30pm protein shake - 355 ml, 160 cal and 30 g of protein. after 7:30 just water and tea. total day: 497 calories and 73g of protein and 10-12 glasses of water.

A normal day of food post op?

Gotcha!! And no vegetables, why? Was that just to keep carbs low or did they not agree with you?

A normal day of food post op?

When you say vegetables are hard, what does that mean? im noticing most people are not eating a lot of vegetables although they are low in cal and good nutrients.

Wow! Great! Thank you. i just downloaded a meal tracker. Were you consistently at 500 calories from the time you could eat solid to the completion of your weight loss? Was that your goal to be at 500 cal?
