    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Oh no! I am sorry to hear that. Its hard because it is trial and error. We are told to try what we feel, very small and chew slowly, but we have no idea what our new stomach's will tolerate and when. At some point, we will all go through what you went through. So not looking forward to that!

Grammie, did you find that after the stall you were consistently losing 4 pounds a week up until now at 2 pounds a week?

Don't you love finding something new?? The different tastes are so welcoming. When I was able to have a few crackers I was in heaven! I find I eat the same thing for at least 5 days because it lasts so long. My head is still in the "make extra".

Yes, you can go for walks with your wife. Your 10 pounds will come off....just not always when we want it by. But at Christmas you will be better than you were 1 month ago and certainly better than last Christmas!

Unfortunately, no. I am looking at my app and it was from Dec. 5 to Dec. 14. So 10 days.

I have finally pushed on through. I was stalled between week 2 and 3. it will be 4 weeks for me on Thursday and its coming off again. It is frustrating but it does happen and you will push through. Be strong, you've got this!

I am the same...mini gastric bypass on Nov 19 and down 10. I’m hoping it’s our normal. My dietitian says it’s normal and not to concentrate on the number but rather on quality food, portions and recovery and all will happen. Hard to not be focused on the weight loss but i am confident we will all get to where we want to be. ❤️

    Not losing weight

Thanks Hop Scotch. I guess logically it’s just not making sense to me. Low calories, low fat, exercise...you would think it would be falling off! Take surgery out of the equation....I’m still overweight and have weight to loose. At 500-600 calories you’d think the first 20 would come off fast. I understand when you get closer you your goal weight it will be slow. I’m not discouraged...I’m not going to stop what I am doing. I do feel healthy and good. I will say that I still feel a bit hungry after I eat sometimes. Just Thought if anyone else was finding a slower weight loss maybe they found some thing that helped speed it up a tad😁 wishful thinking I suppose.

    Not losing weight

How are you doing now with weight loss? I’m trying to figure out what I should be doing. I had my surgery on Nov 19 (mini gastric bypass) and I have only lost 9 pounds. I am tracking 500-600 calories... sometimes less. I walk a lot. Not at the stage that I can do more than a lot of walking. Did you find you made changes or did it just start coming off?

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I would LOVE a greek salad with feta! But I am afraid to do lettuce just yet. Salad is hard to put tiny mouthfuls. I am craving vegetables. I will try roasted cauliflower. I have had a lot of chicken and tuna through the soft stage (shredded chicken) Maybe meatballs in marina sauce? Staying away from bread, pasta and rice. Apparently people have problems with those.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Isn't it interesting how different programs can be? Mine was a 4 week process of liquid, pureed, soft, then solid. I'm a little scared of solid. But curious. So I will start small and see how it works! To be honest, its cold here so I could live off of soup right now! But I think I need more substance. Soup doesn't "sit"....just slides right through. Trying to think what I should try first! What are you all thinking your first "solid" will be??

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Yep, I too had the band and figured out how to work around it but also lived with throwing up and heartburn. the years of throwing up caused major scar tissue. So I look at this as my second chance. No eating fast. No over eating. And if I catch myself getting into a bad place, stop it immediately!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

All the feedback I can get, I will take! As someone mentioned the other day, I am so grateful for this group. And yes, I will not get discouraged. I am happy, truly. I feel great. Would I love to be down 22-30 pounds? Hell ya! And I will...just slower. And yes, now that I am getting into solid foods (on Friday) I will be able to try different foods and see if that will push it along. As long as the scale is going down, I am good. I spent the last year where I felt I tried hard and other times I didn't care...just to be at the same place after a year. So, this time next year....put it in our calendars...we will be in a much better place!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

And you should be excited! That is a big drop!! So encouraging! I didn't have fears it wouldn't work - too much evidence shows it wil. My fears are the longevity ie. after 3-5 years. But I can't worry about 3-5 years from now. I had the mini - did anyone else have the mini bypass vs. sleeve or gastric bypass? My weight loss seems to be slower than others. I talked to my dietician today. I cant complain if it is a constant 3-4 pounds a week - I will take it!! But how can it differ so much from others?

That makes sense - that is the only incision i feel because it is the biggest. The other ones are just little things. I am glad all is well on your end!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

It's always good to ask to make sure. It is not to say I didnt feel anything...just nothing that made me go "ouch!". I still feel "stuff" inside. Mostly to the lower left. I am assuming that is where the bypass happened? So when I lie on my side (which took about 10 days before I really tried to) it's almost like I feel things moving around if that makes sense?. And sometimes right between my chest I feel something...like, tightness. I go tomorrow at noon to get my stitches taken out (I had a lapband removal as well) and will ask about the above. I am curious to see my scars! lol

WHEN did you start REALLY WORKING OUT?

There are a ton of free workouts online. Go to Youtube or google free workouts. You can do anywhere from 10 - 60 min workouts of any kind - cardio, strength with body weight), even walking for those rainy days. Your body will tell you what you can do. If it starts feeling uncomfortable, stop. I am only 3 weeks out so I walk 2-3 times a day for 30 min. I am looking forward to switching up my routine and doing other workouts. However, Its chilly where I am and I do like the walks with the crisp air - it refreshes my mind.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I did the same. I either ate soup or soft food like eggs, refried beans, lentils, canned chicken or tuna...and then chewed really well and had no problem. The first day I pureed 1 egg and it was just plain weird. So I went straight to mash up everything good.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I totally get it! But we probably wouldn't see it as others would. I feel I see it already and I am only at 10 pounds. I am really watching the carb and fat intake and I feel that the fat is coming off faster than the pounds. My face looks thinner. My stomach definitely has gone down. I haven't tried on clothes yet, other than track pants and sweaters....the covid style! I may do that this weekend and see how things feel. But like you, I don't want to be disappointed.
