Post surgery liquid diet help??
Doug E Mo replied to DJ80s's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The problem I have had is I am yet to be hungry...I miss certain flavors (easy fix with broth and seasonings) and textures(will have to wait a bit for that). I have a schedule for drinking and getting protein in just like taking supplements and meds...it is something I need to do to get healthy and I just have to do it. -
Finally, seems to me like it took forever but from what I have read on here my approval was relatively painless, got me surgery date...excited and ready to do it.

My gall bladder was so bad the air/gas pain was just a mild discomfort for me.

Good luck!!!

Had surgery as scheduled...surgery was a breeze, surgeon took out gall bladder<which he said was Uuuuggggllllyyyyy> and fixed an umbilical hernia while he was in there. My wife is scheduled for same surgery on the 30th, when I first woke up I told she was not doing it, once the fentanyl wore off and I felt human again my opinion changed. Between the nerve blocks and nerve pain pills the pain was very manageable. Had to stay a couple of extra days because they found an issue totally unrelated to the surgery, so I guess I was lucky being in the hospital already when it showed up.

I had mine on the 13th...first thing in the morning does seems to be the worst, fortunately for me at least it seems to get better as the day goes on....maybe you have to wake your stomach up as it is still trying to heal...if I can get my supplements and meds down first thing in the morning then I am happy and give my stomach a break for a bit. Do not force it, if it hurts, take a break.

They did, I only took them at night to help sleep though, between the nerve blocks, nerve pain meds and tylenol, wasn't much need for the stronger stuff while I was up moving around.

My surgery is tomorrow and I strained a calf muscle today so the walking is going to be fun.

Max weight loss as well as best health benefits long term...it was the surgery I was looking at before I spoke to either of the surgeons and was the surgery both suggested.

Psych Test -did u have to take one?
Doug E Mo replied to danahall5885's topic in Insurance & Financing
Have done two psych evals in two years...changed insurance before we got surgery scheduled with first surgeon...the first one when I got to the appointment they gave me a 400 question test(the mostly true sometime true type) before I finished it I was called back to the see the doc...we chatted for a about 20 minutes and he told me I was approved just needed to finish the questions so he could file them....the second one we chatted for ten minutes and was approved, no questionnaire...guess each one is different. -
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

As a former smoker who smoked over 2 packs a day for years....you will never stop smoking until you find a reason to not smoke that is greater than your reason to smoke...for me I like money, and at $5 a pack for smokes I was spending a quarter per cigarette, so I went to the bank got a roll of quarters then stopped at convenience store at got a pack of cigarettes...every time I lit a cigarette I threw a quarter away...that was the last pack of smokes I ever bought.
