    Boys Birthday 2007 @265

i can see you are a very happy and outgoing person.. You will do well with the band! Luck and God Bless!
  2. I know what you mean! One of my incentives to lose was to get back to riding horseback (wouldn't get on the poor thing until I got back down to at least 250, which is the maximum any Equestrian farm will allow! lol)... I have been riding every day now for about 6 months, and I can even "round them up from the field" without being short of breath and feeling like I was going to have a heart attack! lol! Next thing I need to master is saddling up without having to use a bucket to get in the saddle (16 hands high horse!) lol! I have also had knee surgery and have very weak knees, so getting the rest of this weight off will help that as well, I am sure. I have lost 85 pounds so far and have 65 to go... I will update pics soon, still not comfortable in front of the camera yet! lol! Good luck and hope to see "less of you" soon!

    Productive Burp aka Throw up

Angel Eyes, Glad to hear you are doing well! Thanks for the info... i have often wondered if you would need an "unfill" if you became ill, etc. Keep the Faith and God Bless!

    JUNE 2009 Lap Band Surgery

oh yeah! Did the Ayds candies... I loved them.. Problem is.. I would eat the Ayds and then EAT THE MEAL! LOL! So glad to be on the "BAND" wagon now! Working wonderfully!
  7. You are exactly right......... better late than never! I too wish I had done this earlier! Hope all is going well with you! I am getting ready to schedule my 3rd refill... Hope to see you on the forum again soon!

    Productive Burp aka Throw up

I agree TOTALLY! I have had BOTH... and there DEFINITELY IS A DIFFERENCE... If/when you PB, there is no acid in the food, since it has NOT MADE IT TO THE STOMACH YET.. If you vomit, on the other hand, it will come from the STOMACH and will contain the digestion acids.... I guess not every one has experienced PB.. But i do agree that any time something comes back up, it cannot be a good thing.. Hope to see Less of you all soon! Keep up the good work!

Does Banding Work if you're over 50?

My blood pressure also normalized immediately following surgery! It is staying pretty steady at about 117/75.... Pretty good considering they were wanting to put me on blood pressure medicine just 1 month earlier! I was also borderline diabetic, and that has been controlled as well since surgery! I have been able to come off of my Prevacid (stomach med) since they repaired the hiatal hernia at teh time I had the band! If I never lose another pound, IT IS WORTH IT! Keep up the good work all! Hope to "see less of you" in the near future!

8/29/09 Getting ready to go to my aunt's b-day party!

Wow! You have done wonderful! Keep up the good work!
  12. AMEN! I am right at 200 pounds NOW.. (after having lost 83 pounds).. I am sooo much happier, more active, and FEEL BETTER THAN I HAVE IN YEARS... But........ 200 pounds, as stated, is still a lot of weight to carry around on these old joints/bones! I intend to get down to my NORMAL/HEALTHY weight and STAY THERE! I just wish I had this choice years ago BEFORE I BECAME NEARLY 300 POUNDS! Kudos to those of you who are doing something BEFORE it gets to that point!

    "You weren't that big?!?!"

I can't tell you how many times I heard the same thing before I was banded... the worse one was my doctor! My doc kept telling me I wasn't that big and surgery was only for people who were MORBIDLY OBESE ....... I was about 130 pounds overweight by HIS scales at that time! Wonder how much bigger I would have had to have gotten before HE WOULD HAVE APPROVED THE BAND? I got tired of BEGGING FOR HELP and went to Mexico and did the self-pay thing... No one knows your body like you do.. Why do we have to BEG FOR HELP? So glad to know I am not the only one with these "SO-CALLED HELPFUL FRIENDS" LOL!
  14. Thanks for the reply... The problem I have about getting an "unfill" is that I travel 3 hours one way to my doc... also, I am self pay, and have to pay for the "unfill" as well.. I am finally getting back to my "sweet spot" after toughing it out for a few weeks... I too have the PB when I am dehydrated, but I guess I didn't put 2 and 2 together to realize that is what caused it.. Thanks for the info!

    my furry child

lol! love this pic... We raise/breed German Shepherds! They are wonderful!
  16. This intrigued me.. and I have been wondering about it.. I am 13 months post band... I have very FEW TIMES I can eat anything (I know my band is a little too tight, but I am trying to wait it out)... My question is regarding your statement, "still have help from the band, but no issues." Does that mean your band is helping you maintain but you do not have issues with it such as PB or the "coughing spells" anymore? I believe I can hang in there as long as I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Lol!
  17. Congrats on your success thus far! Keep up the good work! By the way.... Love your SIGN-ON NAME!

you don't even look like the same person, even though those of us who have been there know you are the same inside as out! Good job!
  19. Good job! I had my surgery a couple of weeks before you and have lost 84 pounds.. Makes a big difference in your life style, huh? Congrats again!

  20. Hey Susan! Soooo sorry you have been having probs.. Did you get a "refill"? I assume you had to have it unfilled because of your other health issues? Hope they have cleared up!
