    Pain with a Fill???????????????

I just had my first fill today. I was worried about nothing. I went in the Dr. had me lay down then located the port, put a small shot with numbing medication (felt a little burn but nothing uncomfortable), after that I felt nothing. Once he had the needle in he had me sit up and drink some Water, had to do it many times until I felt some restriction with drinking the water, then pulled the needle out and that was it. I am so glad I had a good experience and everything went well. I am to do only liquids for 2 days and then can go back to my regular diet. Good luck!!
  2. I have not really craved them either, except the other day we went to dinner to Roadhouse Grill and I use to love their bread. I did have a small craving but for the first time was able to resist and did not feel deprived at all.

Hello this is my very first discussion

I think that the lap band is only a tool. I have noticed that people who have lost their goal weight and are doing good is people who workout and follow a good healthy diet. So, I would definetly make sure you are able to excercise if you want to loose the weight more steadly. but, definetly talk to your surgeon and make sure he agrees with your situation. Good luck!!

    Straws

My Dr. said the reason why not to use straws is because when you suck on the straw the fist part is nothing but air so it goes in your pouch and you get gas. Basically to much air.

Any one not have pre-op diet???

I did not have a pre op diet and had the lap band on August 16, 2008. I only had to do liquids the day before surgery. I have been doing great and have had no problems. Surgery went great.

    Post op restrcition????

From what my Dr. told me the band itself does not give you restriction. He mentioned that a lot of Drs. do not give you any type of fill when they place the band. My Dr. is very aggresive and he filled up my band a little bit so that I would have some type of restriction but not to much so that my stitches could heal. You should check with you Dr. and see if he filled you or not. If he didn't that is the reason you are hungry and can eat just like before the band. Good luck and keep up the fight against the bulge.

    Headaches

How much pain medication were you taking. It might be that you are not taking as much so your body is reacting to it.

    Ready to eat

I am starting to feel great. I don't feel as bloaded and full as before the band. My husband made a comment today that he can't hear my breathing anymore. That meant a lot. I just want to keep this new lifestyle and stick with it.

Lap Band Placed 8-21-2008 (feel horrible)

All I can say that my Dr. gave me liquid Vicodin and that was what kept my pain away. I was taking 4tbs. every 4-5 hours. After a couple of day of taking it I was able to ween off and I only take it at night if that. I had my band last saturday and I am starting to feel better. Good luck and take care of yourself...my Dr. told me this was my time to heal and make sure I can be successful with the HUGE change in my life.

    Medifast Pro-Op Diet & Headaches

The first three days for me were horrible. I stopped drinking Diet Pepsi and started eating healthy. What you are feeling are withdrawls from all the carbs, calories, and all the other junk we use to eat. I was a mess, I felt nauseated, sick and the headache. I even took a Vicodin and it did nothing for me. Finally, I took excedrin for the headache and that did the job, it contains caffeine so it helped. Stick with it after a few days you will start feeling better.

    Ready to eat

I was banded on Aug. 16 and still on liquid diet. I am scared to start eating real food. I mean I have some of the cravings but not really hungry...but the thought of food getting stuck really scares me. I don't want to feel sick since I have had a good recovery. Good luck. What are you eating so far? How much have you lost?

11 days after having the band put in

I had my band on the 16th and feeling pretty good. The first few days were hard for me but only because I had a hernia repaired. Every day gets better. The entire full week all I have had is Protein shakes and today I will start on more liquids. I am nervous about eating anything that is not liquids. I don't know what I am going to feel and don't want to damage my band. I am giving this my all and will follow the diet to a T. Good luck and congrats.

    Weird Question

OMG!!! I am experiencing the exact same thing. It's not that I can't find a comfortable place, I mean a little because I use to sleep on my belly but what keeps on waking me up is the dreams. They are crazy type of dreams, I thought it might be the vicodin. I have also always been a dreamer but nothing like what I have been experiencing lately. By the way I was banded on August 16, and doing great. Feeling beeter each day.
