Broke through a months long stall. What worked and why.
dal101 replied to perfektlynrml's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you for the detailed reply! I use to do lazy keto, where I would replace carbs with meat, but the meat was processed. I would one day like to try bulletproof coffee, it seems so delicious.... Do you count macros and calories ? I have PCOS too, my blood sugar is all over the place sometimes and causes cravings. -

It WAS easy! - Confessions of a lazy loser - Almost a year out
dal101 replied to MandoGetsSleeved's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is me. I just spent the last 3 weeks eating whatever because I had started a new job. I have had deviations from my diet before but 3 weeks was the longest. I weighed myself today and didnt gained thank God, but still I wasted those 3 weeks. I am a slow loser too, but there are many things I dont do. Like I calorie count but I eat anything, I dont bother with macros or look into how much water I drink. I dont exercise and I dont take my supplements (eek!) Like , I keep thinking I wanna reach my goal sooner but I get lazy because of the effort involved. -
If I may ask, what made you notice you had ADHD as a adult ? I suspect I have the same thing.

Hi I am preparing for post op diet (gastric bypass) and I am looking at protein powders / shakes. I know slim fast are rather tasty but I am worried the sugar in it might cause dumping syndrome. Is it best to avoid and try another protein powder? Thanks

Why have I not lost any weight yet?
dal101 replied to Rey Rodriguez's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didnt lose weight the first two weeks after WLS, I think the body will retain fluids when its trying to recover from surgery. Your post op diet will give you a downward trend of weight loss, just wait a bit. -
Lost Weight eating Carbs!!??
dal101 replied to la0525's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This is also very true for me. Sometimes I will have grilled chicken kebab in the week and find more weight has shifted. I think its described as the 'woosh' effect, something to do with your metabolism adjusting. -
Hi, for snacks I usually have a bag of walnuts, cheese sticks, crackers or rice cakes.

Its been roughly over 7 months since surgery and as I am leaning out I notice my belly protudes alot too. I think I will wait until a full year and see how 'bad' it actually is. But yeah , nothing wrong with getting plastic surgery.

I am so f*cked. Rebound sugar and carb cravings.
dal101 replied to perfektlynrml's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
mmm. I had these stressful interviews coming up and consequently spent 2 weeks eating badly. Like takeaways and chocolate etc. When I tried to go back to my healthy eating it was so difficult. It took a couple of days / a week to restrict myself but I managed to get back to it . I slowly reduced my portions and ate more protein. I felt terrible during this period and avoided weighing myself but I got through it. Give yourself time and you'll be back on track. -

Hope things get better for you -
When I was post op, I remember having head hunger all the time. But after a while it definately gets better, just hold on. I hated pureed foods too so I went back to soups.

Not hungry but I want to eat!!
dal101 replied to Hopefulin2021's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt that way post op, then I got to the puree stage and everything grossed me out so had to resort to liquids again. Afterwards when I got to soft foods I felt ok again. -
Can I see some before and after pics?

vitamins...when did you start taking them and how did it go?
dal101 replied to chiquitatummy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I take gummie centrum multivitamins , calcium citrate hard tablets and iron tablets. I can only stomach the gummies the rest make me sick. So that results in me being inconsistent with taking them I think I am gonna go with patches, I have enough pills to take as it is. -
Big NSV and I don't really have anyone to tell it to!

Curious... How long before you could eat your first piece of pizza?
dal101 replied to FINFAN3DP's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wanted to ask this question too, as I love pizza and I think about it everyday. It seems people can eat it after 3 or 4 months?? -
Estrogen levels have a direct effect on fat cell storage so...Thats all I know. Its difficult to know why fat cells are distributed the way are, hormonal or genetics. I do feel for you, I have a big bra size and after having lost roughly 30 pounds , it still feels the same size.

Stall + Hair Loss = Depression
dal101 replied to LAJ23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi , I am a newbie still but I 'll share my input. Dont be depressed, you ve made alot of progress from what I can see in ur stats. My hair is thinning too at the middle parting and more hair falls out when I wash out. I am expecting it to get worse at some point so. I dont think we can do much but let it run its course . I havent stalled yet but my weight loss is a bit slow. So I am taking a more keto approach, having protein shakes and salads more. Keto might help you but general advice is to stick to your plan until the stall breaks. -
Shouldnt it be a eat often but little diet right? Usually these diets make you eat certain things that are suppose to do something , I could never get the hang of it. Let us know if it works.
-
I am happy WLS is working so well for you. I would like to lose weight quicker. Even when I eat small amounts the scale doesnt move much. So trying more of a keto approach of reducing my carbs. Replaced breakfast with a protein shake and lunch with a tuna salad. Heres hoping...

Preparing for Gastric Bypass
dal101 replied to dlack0912's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thats sweet of you, likewise message me whenever you need to. Yeah I am not fond of the psychiatrist they allocated to me as they thought I wouldnt be able to lose and maintain weight because of my emotional status. I am not paying extra to see someone who doubts me like that. -
