    What the??!!

I'm feeling the same way. It's been 9 months for me and I've lost 30 pounds. That's fabulous, but it all came off in the first few months. I've been stuck for about 5 months now. It's very frustrating. If I was successful at dieting and exercising, I wouldn't have had the band in the first place!! I'm trying to walk each evening, but I can pretty much eat anything except bread. What do I do???

    First fill in two weeks

This sounds so familiar...hmmm...yep! Sounds like me!! I was banded on June 6th and lost about 15 lbs. from the two weeks before surgery and the week after. Once I started eating again, it was slower. I was very disappointed. To be truthful, I still am disappointed with how slow it's going. The good thing is that the slower it comes off, the longer it will stay off. I lost 6 lbs. in 6 weeks from the first fill to the second. For me, that's not fast enough. But the doctor was very pleased. I've lost a total of 26 lbs. in 3 months. I just keep asking myself when's the last time I lost that kind of weight? I would encourage you to celebrate small successes and not focus on more than 1-2 lbs. per week. Very slow, but very worth it in the end! Keep the faith! It will work!
  3. I never really get a full feeling. I have trouble eating sometimes b/c I take too big of bites or try to eat too much bread. But if it's something I can eat, I will eat it until it's gone. Most of the time, I just get tired of eating small bites and quit. I've had a second fill and now have 3 cc in my band. I've lost 26 lbs. since June so I guess I won't complain too much!

    craving coffee...i'm gonna die!

My doctor has never said anything about coffee or any other kind of caffeine. As a matter of fact, coffee was one of the only things I could get down the first couple days after surgery. I drank it all day. I drink coffee and tea now. No soda, but that's mostly b/c of the carbonation. I would say drink it and feel better before you go crazy!!
  5. I was banded on June 6th, so it's been about a week and a 1/2. I feel like I'm always hungry. Am I not suppose to feel full quicker and for longer since my stomach pouch is so small? I feel like I could eat a normal size meal if I wanted. And I'm hungry about an hour after I eat. Is this normal? Someone said that they heard the doctors don't fill the band during surgery. Does the band have anything in it or do they wait for a while before filling it?? I wish I didn't feel so hungry all the time!!! :confused2:

    Where's the "I'm full" feeling??

I found out on Tuesday when I met with my surgeon for a post-op check up that the band is not filled. She said they wait until six weeks after surgery for the first fill. I'll have to wait until July 17th for the band to actually have anything in it. I feel like until then, I just have to diet so that I can lose a little weight! I'm getting anxious for the pounds to start dropping!

    Where's the "I'm full" feeling??

Thank you all for your explanations. It helps to know what's going on with others. Off topic, kalipso, how do you get the weight tracker onto your signature? I tried, but it kept telling me "invalid entry" or something. I copied and pasted the url from tickerfactory.com. Did I do it wrong??

    Recovery Time

I had my surgery last Friday, one week from today. I feel "normal" today and also yesterday. I'd say to take at least a week off. It really depends on what you do for a living.
