Tell the Truth, Did you cheat AT ALL on your Preop Diet?
ShelbyD replied to Ineedalapband's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was only on a one week liquid pre op but I can honestly say that I did not cheat once! I'm very proud of that because it was very difficult. We even went to a Texas Rangers baseball game the night before surgery and I did not even have one nacho! -
Kristen, I am so happy for you! I'm hoping to start seeing some weight loss soon.

1 Day til Liquid Diet... 8 Til Surgery
ShelbyD replied to maleliz777's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You can do it! The pre op diet is tough but it feels so good to tell your surgeon that you did not cheat! -
I bought mine at GNC they sell them individually as well as by the case. Not sure how much they cost, I bought several things that day but I think they were around three to four dollars a peice. I know you can get them cheaper online but I wanted to taste them before I bought a bunch, I like the fruit punch and the grape.

Tonni, Glad to hear you are feeling better! I'm doing great today, went grocery shopping with my hubby and two of our four kids. I still don't feel like driving but I did not want to drive too much before surgery either. I'm thinking about taking my daughter school clothes shopping tomorrow. I really want to get things back to normal.

PJ sorry to hear that you had to go back to the hospital. I had some nausea but the dr. gave me a med so it took care of that and I've been able to get in plenty of fluids. Hope that everything is easier for you from here out.

I am officially banded! Had my surgery this morning at 8 and was released by 10:30! I feel great, my only complaint is that my mouth is very, very dry and I have a bad taste in my mouth that I can't seem to get rid of. I was so nervous last night that I did not sleep more than a couple of hours! I had a great experience at the hospital everyone was so nice. Hope everyone else is doing good. I'll try to catch up on all the posts later this afternoon. It is so nice to have someone to share this with. My family has been great but it is not the same as having people going through it with you! Thanks for being there!

So far I can say that the pre op diet was the worst part of the whole process. But after 3 or 4 days even that got easier. Good luck to you on your pre op. It felt so good to tell the doctor that I didn't cheat once! You can do it!

I love the whey protein bullets! I don't think I could have ever gotten all my protein in without them.

I had my done in Dallas with Dr. Barker. Actually the hospital was in Garland. I thought about going to Texarkana to have it done but the hospital was not in network for my insurance.

I finally woke up enough to post again!:tt2: I slept most of yesterday, but I feel great today! Very little pain. I appreciate all the well wishes, and I hope everyone comes through as easily as I have. I had lots of worry for nothing!

At my first consult I weighed 252, then weighed 257 when I had my stress test.:tt2: Weighed 249 pre op at the hospital Wed. and today I'm 247. Hoping to be down a few pounds by next friday!

Krislyn, I slept all day yesterday and woke up this morning feeling great. I'm itching around the port bandage and sore when I get up or down but other than that I'm great. I tried to post yesterday and could not keep my eyes open long enough to read anthing. I have been trying to walk as often as possible and I think that is helping with the gas. The swelling in my belly has gone down today too. I think that has helped with feeling better. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Keep us posted.

I'll be banded next week!
ShelbyD replied to dancing bear's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome, you have come to the right place for support..the people here are great! I think August is going to be a great month to get banded, my date is the 6th. Good luck. -
It's after one in the morning and I can't sleep. I am leaving my house at eight am to head to the hospital in Dallas, two hours from my home, for pre op blood work. Since I live so far from the hospital I'll spend the night and have surgery the next day. I did not realize how nervous I was until I began packing. Wow, this is really happening. I keep wondering if I am doing the right thing...will this really work for me? I am so afraid of failing I can't stop thinking about it. I am going to try and stop worrying and get some sleep. Thanks for letting me ramble.
