    Any Cross Fitters out there??

Hi Carol! Thanks! I do feel really great doing the program. It is pretty vigorous but can be adjusted to just about anyone's fitness level. You can do it anywhere which is what i really love about it. We workout at the complex where I live. My trainer Anthony can take just about anything and turn it into a workout! We do use some equipment but it is all provided by the trainer so I didn't need to buy anything or bring anything to the workouts. Thanks! Sheila
  5. You are definitely not alone! I have a very, very low tolerance for pain so that probably didn't help when I went for my first fill. And I have a fear of needles or even getting blood taken. I tend to get a little worked up. And that is what happened. He had me do a crunch to make the port pop up so he could really feel it. He stuck me with the needle (it hurt!) and I started to breath really fast and shallow. He couldn't find the port the first time so he pulled it out, tried to get me to relax and went back in a second time. He found it quickly the second time, but I was already so worked up that when I got off the table and went out to the receptionist, I passed out. I will say that I have had two fills since that one and both have been much better. Only one stick and he finds the port with relative ease now. No more passing out!! :girl_hug: SO I guess they get better with time. By the way, I really love my doctor! He always jokes with me that I can punch him for doing that to me my first fill
  6. I was just curious if there are any other banders that do Cross Fit as their exercise regimen? I have been doing the cross fit training for about 11 weeks and feel like it is a really great workout. I work with a trainer and we have a group of us that workout together. It makes it a lot more fun and really makes you work hard! Thanks! Sheila

    vitamins ?

I was banded about the same time as you and have been taking my regular Multivitamin each day since my six week checkup. I take it at night with my other meds (BC and Zoloft). I also take two Calcium citrate pills that are rather large. I split them in half. I take two halves in the AM and two halves in the PM. I currently have 4cc's in the standard AP (10cc) band. I don't have any trouble getting them down. And these were my doctors orders. Hope this helps. Sheila

    For recent bandsters...

I am a bit further along in the recovery, but I have been using the AcheivOne protein drinks. They are coffee flavored and are really good! They have 20 grams of protein in each 9.5 oz bottle. They are one of the few protein supplements I can tolerate. The other supplement I use is the Isopure RTD's. They have 40 grams of protein in 20oz. I like the blue rasberry and Ice tea flavors.

    Vitamins???

Am I the only one who isn't using a chewable vitamin? My doctor said as soon as I was able to, that I could use my regular vitamins that I swallow. I take a regular multivitamin at night and 1 citracal. And I take another citracal in the morning. I have no problem swallowing either of them. Although I do take them separately, not together. So for anyone who doesn't like chewables, ask your doctor. They may be okay with you taking a regular vitamin as well.

    Hello Middletown, New York area

Hi Mary, My first consult with Dr. Pucci was in February. Because of the insurance I have, Aetna, I had to see Dr. Pucci for 3 months before they would consider approving me. Once I got through that, all I had to do was provide 2 years worth of documented weight issues with a BMI over 40 and Dr. Pucci already had my attempts at weight lose in the past. Aetna approved me and the office called me the same day and gave me my surgery date. I have been very happy with the office and Dr. Pucci.
  11. Hey There Sjcharly. .. Sorry It Took So Long To Reply. I Was Banded By Edward Pucci.. I Am Totally Happy With The Care I Received. The Office Staff Is Also Very Nice. I Was Supposed To Get My First Fill Yesterday.. But There Was A Mix Up In The Appointment Dates.. I Am Now Scheduled For 07-03-08. I Have Lost About 20 Lbs Since Surgery And I Feel Great. No Pain, No Problems . No Complaints... Ramona

    Nausea!

My Doctor had given me a script for Zofran. I knew going in I was going to need something as I have a very sensitive stomach especially after I have had surgery. I needed it for about a week post op. It worked very well.

    glue vs sutures

I was glued for my Lapband surgery on May 20th. I much prefer them to stitches which generally need to be removed unless you have the kind that melt away. I also was glued after I had my gall bladder removed in Dec 07. The incisions have healed very well from that surgery as are the incisions from my Lapband surgery.

    Hello Middletown, New York area

Hi Olga! I live in Monroe. I was banded on May 20th by Dr. Anthony Pucci at Good Samaritan Hospital. So far I have been very happy with my results and my experience with the Dr and his staff has been wonderful. I am only 4 weeks in but I would be happy to help in anyway I can. You learn pretty quickly when you get into it!
