Do not let the bastard ruin your life! You have accomplished a great thing! don't let him win by making you miserable that you start eating. Only you can decide if he is worth it. Just remember you deserve to be happy and can/will he make you happy? Concentrate on your kids. Give them time and attention. Do a little thing to help someone everyday and you will find you can clear your mind and make the right decision. Do not let him ruin your self esteem. Good luck and hope you get the happiness you deserve.

I do believe Jesus was a liberal.. Judging not ... feeding the hungry caring for the sick, reminding us not to cast stones.... yip I say he was a liberal! -
Can I ask a question about "water for elephants"? I know I will sound quite crazy but do any animals die in the book? I was given it as a gift and was told it is great but I have this weird thing where if animals die I get upset. Blood and gore people not a problem....:cool2: I read Memory Keeper's Daughter It was excellent.

What was the straw that broke the camel's back for you?
di1138 replied to southerngirl24's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I realized I couldnt walk a half a block to the mailbox without becoming short of breath. Also noticed that there was this FAT person in my mirror that I didnt recognize. I gave up wanting to put on makeup and do my hair. Finally after I ate a half gallon of ice cream and was looking for more I said enough is enough. But i dont have that problem with shoes... I only buy slip ons! Good luck to all of you. -
Be thankful you have a job and good health. I posted earlier so I wont bore you again but if you look into it deeper you will find most people with problems did NOT bring them on by living frivolously. Granted some do but it sound like they give you job security! Right now I cant even find a job in a grocery store. I spend hours looking everyday.

How much is too much Protein
di1138 replied to LeslieR041906's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am frustrated by this question too. I had my nutritional consultation last week and asked her how much protein a day should I eat. Her answer was very vague. She said she eats a lot! For that answer I had to pay $100. -
Perhaps if our country was not spend BILLIONS of dollars that we are borrowing from China and other countries on a war we could take care of our own..... just a thought......

Before you judge the people consider what may have happened. I still have my home, thank God, but our credit rating took a hugh hit because my husband became physically disabled by a stroke several years ago. I lost my job in December and have been franticly looking for another. Unemployment has run out. I can't even get a minimum wage job in my area. Gas is $4.69 a gal. so I cant travel far for a job and all other expenses have skyrocketed. Even with health insurance we pay over $140. a month for prescriptions. We are fortunate that my husband has private disability insurance that pays for the very basics but without that our home would be foreclosed on too. We were very comfortable before all of this happened to us and the mortgage company gave us the mortgage because we could afford it. Like the old saying goes walk a mile in someone's shoes before you judge them. One never knows what is around the corner -

I lost something very important today
di1138 replied to MusicMan2008's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My heart is hurting for you. I try very hard not to read sad animal stories because of the heavey heart I feel however i couldnt help but read yours. I have 4 dogs (all rescues) and have had dogs all my life. Losing one is losing your family member and the pain is unbearable. Give yourself some time to grieve then go to shelter and save a life. You can find the most wonderful dogs there including pure breeds. It wont replace the one you lost but will give you a new being to love and help you smile again. -
I am not banded yet but certainly understand what you are seeing. I look at pictures of myself at 150 lbs and remember thinking how fat I was. I had gone up from a size 6 to 10 and felt like I was as big as a house. Now I really am! I have yo-yoed many times and even though I got down to 160 2 years ago I felt no different than I do now at 250. Boy are we our own worst enemies!

Doctor in Inland Empire Area (CA)
di1138 replied to mommyof5's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Even though I live in the high desert I am going to LA for my surgery. Dr Carson Liu is supposed to be one of the best in the country. I have talked to several of his patients and they are very happy with him. I just dont look forward to the ride every time I need a fill. -
State of Georgia claims obesity is NOT a health risk???
di1138 replied to WASaBubbleButt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is good to know how healthy I am! That is why it takes me all day to clean just one room. So healthy that I want to sleep 16 hrs a day. It is hard to believe in 2008 they would publish this crap. -
Mike, come on we all have a right to be treated with respect. That woman was rude. They are not volunteering their services for free! I am sure there is more than one surgeon in Knoxville that is competent. My doctor is in Los Angeles and I understand he is one of the best in the country. He and his staff bent over backwards to make me comfortable. All of my husband's and my doctors up here in the high desert treat us with respect. Sure sometimes we have to wait but if it is long we are given a reason and an apology. One must feel good about the doctor and staff for surgery. Our attitude going in affects our success.

A new way to look at how much you have lost....

I cant wait till I can say i lost a 2 month old horse! -
HUMMM the reason we are living paycheck to paycheck and losing jobs paying high price for gas is because we have a republican in the white house who has brought this all one...War ring a bell?
-
Please dont do that! Read up on the polices of the two candidates and pick the one closes to your views. Hopefully it will be Obama. :biggrin2:

My deepest sympathy. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. It sounds like some of your family needs a service and a place to grieve. If his wife does not want to give him one couldn't the rest of you get together and have a memorial service for him? You are in my prayers.

Is your hair your only problem? If it is I would take hair falling out over high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, short ness of breath and not fitting into chairs, etc any day. Of course if it is causing you other problems you need to take care of yourself. Good luck & health to you.
