Heather Just read latest entry in Loser Girl Chronicles. That is awesome that you were asked to speak at a seminar!! I too am a talker, but would be very nervous to speak up in front of people. The funny thing is though at the seminar I went to I remember thinking "I hope that is me up there someday 100 lbs healthier telling my story" Wish I could have met everyone at the mall gathering but I had to work. Keep up the good work. You are truly an inspiration!! Cindy

Jill Wish I could go Tues but I work until 7:30p. Couldn't make it to Polaris Sat either b/c I had to work. Waiting for my bill to come so I picked up a few extra days! I was asking Dr during my fill about the Realize band compared to the AP band and he said results are the same, but theRealize band is a little more flexible so things probably won't get stuck as easily.Tonight I actually ate 3 oz of filet, spinach, and 1/3 baked potato. All of a sudden I felt this lump in my throat after a bite of potato,so that was the end of supper. My husband said I was eating to fast. Nothing came back up. Sunday I felt like I could have eaten everything in site! So I understand your worries!!! It is definitely a tool and not magical cure. You sound like you have the right attitude and understanding to make it work and by the looks of your ticker you are making progress! Way to go.

Just wonderin- Had my first fill Thurs am. I had not tried pasta or bread until tonight. I just wanted to test this band at home and I was able to eat a small plate of spaghetti (probably 1-1 1/2 c) and a pc of french twist pillsbury bread. I felt full (which is good) and nothing got stuck (also good),but wondered if this was normal ?? Should this thing stop me from eating pasta and bread all together? Silly questions I know but....

JillW Well I had my first fill this am. He had me do legl lifts while he felt for my port! He injected 2 cc so hopefully things will go well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! The bottle of water went down with no problem. Hope things are going better for you. RnMom

JillW Do you feel any restriction yet? Celebrated my 40th tonight and went to Bravos. No bread and oil, had the tilapia, ate much less than before, and NO dessert, but I am really thinking the fill will help! How is it going since your fill? RnMom

Heather A I think my appt is at 10 am and then I have my workout session at 2pm across the parking lot. I live an hour from Riverside so I will have to hang out for awhile b/c I couldn't get any appt closer together. Maybe we will run into each other! Do you have to have liquids the day of fill or what diet restrictions are there on "fill days"? I should have asked, but didn't think of it. I see your ticker shows 1/2 way there. Congrats!!

Jill Nothing yet. My first fill is July 10th. I think I will be needing it. I am starting my 5th week and want a llittle more food than in the past 4 weeks but sticking to it! How are you doing with your diet? Good Luck on Thursday. Please let me know what you find out and how it goes! RnMom

Good Luk Melissa! It depends on what band he decides to put on. He will probably talk to you about it at your preop visit. If you and Dr. Myer decide to go with the band by Johnson and Johnson, there is a website (www.REALIZEband.com) that you can track your progress with food and exercise journals, a virtual you that you can see what you have the potential to look like and other things. You can get on and look at the general website but when you register it asks for a surgeon id and we haven't received that yet. After your band is placed, you receive a code from your specific band that you use on the website. Good Luck! I am on pureed tuna now. I never knew how good it could taste!!

I called the Realize customer service and they couldn't "generate the number for me" so I also called the office and they said I was the second person that day to call about it and she was emailing their rep b/c she didn't know anything about it. I had asked Dr Myer at my postop visit and he didn't know either. Can't wait to get it though and use the website. Starting on pureed and first fill is July 10th. Good Luck!

Heather- From what I have read, were you banded by Dr. Myers at FSB? I just had a Realize adjustable gastric band placed by him 06/03/08 so I am just beginning this journey and love reading all the posts. I am from Central Ohio and would like to make it to some of the support group mtgs. I grabbed the dates in his office at my post op visit. Not very savvy on the computer but managed to read your site! Still on the full liquids and start pureed in 2 days!!
