Anyone November 2020
GivinItMyALL replied to mgilbert's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh no, that sounds awful! You'd think they could make a freaking exception... it's not your fault it was postponed. Ugh... I am going to hope that you are able to get in under the wire! -
Ugh... I feel this to my core.
-
Well, you mentioned they said they were giving you vitamins at the appt... does that mean like... GIVING them to you? Or just saying you need to take them from that appt on? My plan just said I had to have certain amounts of key vitamins in whichever I chose, and listed a couple possibilities. Ultimately, it was up to me, which is why I spent literally an entire day, pre op, looking at vitamins on Amazon. The Opurity option (from Unjury) was relatively inexpensive and touched all the points, but I have an Amazon CC, so it came down to that, to be honest.
-
I'll check that out shortly... but I was given guidelines, and suggestions. They suggested opurity vitamins, but with the guidelines, I searched a bunch of different types on Amazon, and this is the one I chose 🙂

This shows the brand and size of the capsule, and the back side shows the amounts.

My plan says 1-2T of egg with 1-2T of something else (I chose the applesauce option). I got the whole egg in, and maybe 1 baby spoon of the applesauce. It's sitting well so far... I'm more worried about the multivitamin.
-
Just ate my first scrambled egg and took my first multivitamin. Let's see how this goes... Wish me luck.
-
Hope it happens for you soon! Took me 6 days, I think, and now I have the opposite problem... Everything is SUPER loose. Ugh...

Timing of multivitamin
GivinItMyALL replied to GivinItMyALL's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Thank you, @Arabesque. I'd literally rather be in pain than nauseated or vomiting, so... I hope it goes well, too. -
Yes, in the late afternoon on the 2nd. My surgeon told me, pre-op, that a lot of his patients start on softs in a few days. 😳 Yeah, with all the complications I had, I am starting when my nutritionist says (7-10 days). My softs may be different than others', though. Reading through the packet from my nut, it seems like applesauce, eggs, smooth peanut butter, cream of wheat, and the like.

Sounds good to me! I GAINED 7lb from my hospital stay (I was in for a few days with complications). I have lost it now, and finally down again by a couple pounds (I am a week post op).

Just finished my breakfast of some Two Good vanilla yogurt mixed with protein powder and a splash of vanilla Premier shake. Mid-morning snack will probably be some Progresso creamy tomato basil soup (also with protein powder). I gotta tell ya... I have never tried that particular soup before, but I had some yesterday, and it was so good I wanted to cry LOL... Anyone already sleeved feel like they are constantly watching the clock? I am in the no drinking 15 min before or 30 min after stage (it will soon switch to 30 & 30 I think... gotta read my paperwork again), and am having such a hard time getting my water in all day. I used to be a guzzler and would drink SO much water, but now, it's so hard. I could start soft foods today, according to my surgeon, but I think I am holding off on that for a bit, because I am scared after all the complications I had.

Too bad there isn't a "wow" reaction. Holy crow, that sounds terrible. I dunno why they would give Ritalin, tbh, but I am guessing you're allergic to it. What a terrible time to find that out! Have you been rescheduled?
-
I know there seems to be a lot of controversy about the brand, but it was what my nutritionist recommended... I got a sample (on my own) pre-surgery, and it was great as far as not being able to taste it, so... I use Genepro. Pre-surgery, I tried it in some yogurt, and in just plain water. Couldn't detect it in the yogurt at all, and could only marginally in the water (it might be undetectable if I added some Mio or something...) The Premier Protein is just all gross to me now, though I still slog through because I don't want to waste the ones I have.

I pooped tonight! Was starting to get a little concerned. And yes on the hot liquids. So much better... I've had cream of chicken soup (with the bits strained out, and some unflavored protein powder added) a few times today, and it was so so so much better than the shakes.

Not a lot, no, but it's the most painful one. I haven't had taken any of my pain pills, either.

Here's my main (stomach pull-through) incision's bruising. [emoji15]
-
My heart rate has been up since my surgery on Monday. I lost a lot of blood, though, so mine could be due to that. Hopefully yours will resolve soon!
-
Has anyone who has had surgery already had a BM? I have not, and I don't even feel the pressure from one. Is that normal until I start eating more? Also... does anyone have LARGE, DARK bruising? Especially at the stomach-removal incision? I am going to go on a search for what's normal there and what... isn't. Because it is like 😳

Happy early birthday, fellow scorpio (mine was the end of October)!
-
I've read that that is probably due to acid. Are you on anything that reduces it?
-
That's awesome... Congrats!

Fibromyalgia
GivinItMyALL replied to GivinItMyALL's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Oh, I have so much hope now! Thank you so much! -
Hi, all! I have fibromyalgia and a right foot that has literally 5 things wrong with it. I have lost 20lbs since I started weighing myself on the 6th of October, and my foot feels better already (I am really trying to avoid foot surgery, or at least postpone it for a long time). I am scheduled for my VSG this afternoon. My question is, has anyone else with fibromyalgia had a significant decrease in pain levels after losing their excess weight?
