Anyone for September 2020?
Tricky Dicky replied to vsg_britt_091420's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
320 down to 238. I have stalled now for the past 3 weeks so I've upped the exercise. Not too worried as I think the weight will all come off in time. Just keep at it -

I am at the 5 week stage now. I cheated and a few days back had some ground beef in a shepherd's pie. It was lovely and delicious but had only a small amount that took me a while to eat. I still have a tendency to rush my eating. I'm not sure I will ever slow down enough though. The dumping effect isn't nice but I can handle the effects. I have lost 17Kg since the operation on the 14 September 20. I am very happy with the loss and know that the weight is coming off steadily. Just take 1 day at a time and enjoying the ride for a change. All my fat clothes are starting to hang off me. The weight is slow to come off but the inches and shape have certainly caught me out. My face is now thin and people have to double take when they see me.....they do not believe its me. -

Pookyl, very well done and congratulations. Glad everything went well with you. I was the same with the liquids as I always tend to wolf it down as quickly as possible. They started me with a 30ml medicine cup for the 1st couple of days. Now I'm sipping regularly throughout the days along with some pureed foods. To be honest these are small prices to pay for the fact that everytime i step on the scales the number goes down. Its absolutely amazing that I don't feel hungry at all. I think I will need to take extra care in future so that I don't become anorexic. Lol Try to rest as much and as often as you feel like now that you are back home. Well done once again -

Good luck. I had my 1st ever procedure 13 days ago. Looking back now I wonder why I was ever nervous. This has been the best choice I have ever made. I cant believe I kept putting it off and off. I had mine done i Saudi Arabia so some small language barriers but nothing to complain about. You have got this. The rest of your life is now in front of you. Just to let you know, I was 137kg before the procedure and now at 125kg. I've started to wear clothes that I haven't had on for 7 years. Stay positive and good luck for tomorrow again. -

Much the same as mine then. Post Op now by a week and now walking upto 5 miles a day. Feel great and cannot believe how well I actually feel. Food is no longer a care as I have just been to the supermarket with the Missus. Picked up all the bad food and old lifestyle foods, looked at them and smiled and then put them back. Feel quite proud of that. I cant finish a cup of tea at present as I'm full after only 1/2. Well done for you to take the plunge i am sure you won't regret this journey. Sleep is important and now I am determined to sleep a little earlier and wake up and then walk. Life has changed for the better for all of us. Congratulations again to you. Just take it easy and do as much or little as you feel like. -

For me I was dreading the procedure and the recovery as some of my friends had said they suffered with the after effects of the anesthetic. I have however surprised myself how well I actually feel. You have got this ....thats my mantra. Liquid diet isn't bothering me too much. When I flew back to my city, I stood looking at the menu boards in burger king and domino's pizza. 5 minutes passed and thought " you are not hungry so move along" I've only really noticed that when ever I switch the TV on its a food advert so I just reach for a sip of water. I honestly do not feel hungry. Last night I opened a tin of soup. I put 1/4 in a dish and heated it. I actually finished 1/2 of what I made lol. True story. If i have a cup of tea. The best I can manage is actually 1/2 a cup. I am sticking to the rules given me that I have to drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. I will stick to the experts advice and follow the program for a change. -

Just had mine done on the 14th. 54 year old male that has never been in hospital before and I can tell you that I was dreading it. Nervous was an understatement. 5 days on im wondering why I put myself through so much stress and sleepless nights! I had excruciating pain the 1st day but by the 3rd day I have the odd twinge but nothing that I wasn't prepared for. I'm now pain free at day 5 and have been walking 3 or 4 miles each day. My future is looking so optimistic now that I truly feel blessed. I cannot believe the struggle I've had for the last 35 years is finally over. I'm looking forward to wearing some of my smaller and now retro clothes lol Stay positive as its all worth it in the end.
