I have done the same thing. I was banded June 10th and lost 25 lbs. the first 4 weeks and now am at a stand still. It's gotten very frustrating. My first fill is scheduled for July 31st. I was supposed to go tomorrow, but the surgeon's office called to day to reschedule. I'm trying to stay focused and continue with my routine.

Hi, Heidi! I was just banded Tues. of this week. The rule of thumb for most insurances is that you are about 100 lbs. overweight for your height and a BMI of 40 or more. BUT, those numbers can be lower if you also have a co-morbidity (ex. high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.). are you self-paying or looking for your insurance to cover it?

Hello, Shonda, I, too, was banded on June 10! I did stay overnight and did the "swallow" x-ray the next morning. I am sore as well, but feeling a lot better today. Glad to have someone with whom to go on this journey!

I was banded Tues., June 10, 2008. I am a little sore, but Extra Strength Tylenol seems to be working. I have read many of the posts before and after surgery and have learned a lot. Thanks for all of the great info.

Hello, I'm from the Memphis/Olive Branch, MS area and had my "banding" 2 days ago with Dr. David Tichansky. I haven't seen any postings from local banders who went with him. Anyone else out there go with UT Medical Group?
