Hey I’m scheduled for bypass November 23rd. Anyone else that same time frame? I’d like to build a group if anyone is interested in going through this as a team?

If I eat fast (which is a problem for me), I feel it immediately!! I have to sit at the table no distractions and literally time myself and wait at least 30 sec. to 1 min. Between bites... it’s a pain, but otherwise I inhale food. I was struggling so much with the recommended diet, constipation, nausea and sick from too much animal protein. I got permission on Friday to switch to a Whole Foods plant based diet. I am so much happier, and able to meet the protein requirements easier. I’ve never been a big meat eater and I had dairy intolerance pre-surgery. It didn’t improve. So for me, this is a life saver. I’m sharing so that you can do what you need to make this lifestyle your own. If you are having a hard time meeting it in anyway, over time it will wear you out, at least it would me. I’ve tried to remove as many obstacles and complications so I can have the best chance at success. I’ve read a lot of people feeling like they don’t get the full and they can easily eat whatever, they aren’t hungry. what I’ve seen the response is, it will change over time and stick to the plan so you don’t accidentally stretch your stomach, or become malnutritioned. There are days I don’t feel hungry, but if I wait too long I feel nauseous. Best of luck!!

I’ve been waiting to hear! I’m so glad they finally got you something!! Just believe! (Sugar pills can be powerful right!?!) you’re still in my prayers. Keep us posted on your surgery and progress!

I’m currently in Utah, but have lived in Virginia, Texas, Michigan, Washington and have always been able to get help with this. That’s why I think you need to shop pain doctors. I get they need to be careful, but this is the bare minimum you’re requesting! Hang in!!💚❤️💜

Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry!!! I saw my pain specialist today and got another Percocet prescription. Just because some people get addicted and abuse drugs doesn’t mean we should be in agony. You need to find a new pain dr. That is ridiculous! I have to go in once a month. They won’t call it in, but they can exam you and tell if you’re an addict or a person in extreme pain! I have to go for another round of mri/x-ray/ct... once a year. It’s not like they can’t see it!!! I’m so frustrated for you. Wish I lived nearby, I’d drive you to the doctor and yell at them for you! 😬. Okay maybe not yell, but sternly tell them what’s up!! Still praying for you. Sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel. Call your GP first thing tomorrow and again after lunch. They get busy and it slides down the list... I have 3 special needs kids and I have learned how to advocate hard! There is no reason for pain in our society! Hang in there!

That is so annoying! Nerve pain is the worst! My goes down my legs. I take 10-325 Percocet every 5.5 hours or I wouldn’t survive. Can you see a pain specialist? My GP won’t prescribe either. I’m so sorry!!

I guess I missed a lot!! You’re getting another surgery? Assuming you’re able to stay healthy. I’m sorry you have to go through this so soon after RNY! I’m sorry your in so much pain! Can you get pain meds? I still am on Percocet due to back pain. I couldn’t live without them. Chronic pain stinks!! I’m so sorry!!

Hey, Merry Christmas!! I was getting on today to ask that same question!! I’ve survived, stayed on plan and can’t get to my January 8th appointment fast enough. I miss veggies! I have been able to eat a little bit of salsa and hot sauce with beans and eggs, but yesterday I had some Pico de Gallo and when they say your veggies need to be cooked they mean it! I think I had a thumbtack size of tomato and tiny piece of onion...almost threw up. I didn’t mean to eat either, I was sharing a few bites of chipotle chicken and beans from my husbands dinner, I saw it peaking out as I lifted my spoon but it didn’t register fast enough. 😂 how have all of you sweet friends done? I hope we’ll and that you are healthy and safe!

Hi Sweet Jane, I’m sorry it’s not going your way right now!! It is the worst when the scale just won’t budge! Wow, your a strong person! It is hard to stay true to the diet and exercise regime when we don’t see the results! Congratulations!! Something I’ve learned about me, I only celebrate big loss... it has led me to a life of disappointment. I’m learning to celebrate my success wherever it lies. I’m excited for you! The weight isn’t poring off, but you are standing tall and unflinching! I’m going to celebrate that with you!! One thing I’ve seen is people wrapping a piece of yarn around their waist each week and then taping it to their wall, so they can see the downward trajectory. Also, what kind of scale do you have? If you don’t already you may want to invest in a scale that shows what kind of weight your losing. I’ve seen fat being lost on my scale, but no lbs from my weight. (I have a Renpho scale.) it reminds me things are happening. If this is all already in your mind, I’m sorry!! Sometimes we just want to be heard. If that’s where you are, I hear you and see the tremendous effort you are making! Hoping for a downward sliding scale for you very soon!!

I’m so sorry it’s so bad! I will pray for you that this takes and works quickly! I’m sorry you have to get another procedure so soon!! Hang in there! Thanks for the tip! They don’t think that will work for me. I can’t remember what’s it’s called off the top of my head, but it’s an actual implant to stop the nerve message from making it to the brain. Mine is so bad I often can’t lift my foot off the floor. It is going to pass I keep telling myself.

That’s still fast for 8 weeks! Wow!! So awesome 🤩

I’m always thinking this is normal. It will pass. I’m just being whiney. Thank you for reminding me pain is not normal!! I’m going to call them today!
