    February's Chat

Hi all. Happy Sunday : - ) Slept most of yesterday. Headache, nausea..... don't think it was band related, picked up bug or something. Feel a little better today! DSD and grandkids coming over after church. Not a good beach day, windy and chilly. I am cooking them some steaks for dinner. Eileen: I had my husband put your MIL on the prayer list at church. I hope you and DH are able to get some much needed rest. Cindy: good for you for doing something on your "always wanted to" list. Guns don't offend me, just what some do with them! I think everyone should learn how to handle them. My DH took my boys to a safety/shooting class when they were around 11 so that if they ever came across one they would know what to do. Diane: itching sucks! I didn't have that much, just some when I was healing. Hope it goes away fast. Patty: I love your positve attitude about buying the jeans. That means YOU WILL fit in them soon! When I moved I had so many different sizes in my closet. gave everything away to goodwill..... Now I am starting over. Sherry: what is the medical band thing? never heard of a banster getting a band... can you tell me about it? Beanie: IKEA... I love that store. In Connecticut my DH and I used to go and just walk around. That took about 3 hours. I miss it, but heard they are going to build one here in florida... yahhooo! Hey to everyone esle.....

Catholic? What are you giving up during Lent???

I was just thinking of this today!!! I felt bad about giving up something like ice cream or candy since I'm not suppose to have it anyway. This is a dilema for me. II really liked everyone elses idea about not going the food route. More thought needed on my part. My present husband is protestant and I raised we two sons in the congregational church after starting them in the catholic church. DH gives something up for the 40 days and participates in Lent. He feels it is his way to show his faith to his God. Me, I'm still that Irish Catholic girl..... Thanks for starting this thread....

    Getting it off my chest...

Oh, don't I know how you are feeling! I can relate to your feelings. The food things, well that will be with me everyday.... It is how I deal with it. The smokes! oooHHHHHH!!!!! that one is such a hard one. Excersise! another hard one.... Food.... It is all so overwhelming when trying to tack them all at once. Smoking: I did it twice and I hope that is it for me. I am a cold turkey person. Get the pain over with all at once. The patch worked for my DH. What ever way works for you .... as long as it works. Excersise: try asking someone to walk with you. That way you have a commitment with someone and you'll have to do it! Food: well... we all struggle with that one. Have faith. Keep trying and you will succeed!:clap2:

Spoke to soon..... I went to dinner the DH and it went really well, AT FIRST! Yes, you can probably see where this is going. It was a salad and soup bar. I have had salad once and I didn't do very well. So I took some cucumber, beats, squash, zuchinni(?), carots and cut them all really small. Put ranch dressing on it and ate slow. It was real good and I was thrilled to eat salad. I then ate 1/2 cut of soup. At the end of the meal I started not to feel good. Took a walk while my husband payed the check. Well I barely made it to the car and I burped real hard and all this slime came up.... all over the DH new car! Oh yes, I was sooooo sick! It poored rain on the way home so I was getting sick in a portable coffee cup my DH had in the car.... Got sick for 1/2 hour! I kept telling him how sorry I was and he was just worried about me. (sweet man) So, here is the questions: 1) Since I am 6 weeks out and everyone says and I keep reading that I won't have restriction until until my first fill? How come I feel so much restriction and can't eat to much or I get sick? Which has been once a week! 2) I didn't think I ate to much. How do I know? I didn't feel sick until afterwards. I am doing ok with it, but a little frustrated. Thanks, I feel good I have somewhere to post this. I wouldn't do it out there in LBT land.... just here in jersey land

    I have a NSV!

Congrats..... I fought for years to get out of heels! I now live in Floirda and sandles are my favorite.... I gave all my heels to goodwill!!! Enjoy them and show off those new legs!:biggrin1:
  11. Sit down, relax! I can't say "we" all made the same mistakes, but I do know that I did. I had a couple of bad food choices early on. It is never to late to start over..... Make this the new moment! Decide to stop making bad choices and start again. Remember.. Just for today. If that is to much ... Just for the moment. You can do it!

    Hey Y'all !

Welcome Ms. Vickie.... For me, and I can only talk about my journey, it is great. I thought, and so did the DH, how are you going to stop binge eating. Well, I don't even crave 'most' of those foods. I couldn't even think of sitting down and eating a cheeseburger and two hotdogs... LOL Good luck. You will find support here if you want it.
