I wasn't on any kind of pre-op diet. Thank god! I felt like such a failure at losing weight as it was never mind lose it before surgery LOL I could not stop eating two weeks before surgery. Eating All my favorite foods... my husband even worried that I might fail because I couldn't stop eating..... well, it all worked out ok. I have kind of lost a lot of the compulsion I had for food. No to say it is all gone, but I am working on it. Amazing! I get a craving and usually have a bottle of water and it goes away. I am in love with my friend "the Band". Good luck... it will be fine... just keep signing on, reading and researching.

It sounds like you need a (((((hug)))))! I don't have any words of wisdom.... just wanted to congratulate you on your weight loss and give you a hug. Donna

BIG (((((( HUGS)))))) I agree with Cindy.... you are very brave and honest to come here and share this. I know hard it must have been. There are so many things to think about when we put the food down and have to deal with ourselves. I can't say that I have PB'd on purpose to eat more. Usually when I PB the last thing I want to do is eat! Probably all those years praying to the "pocelain godness" after drinking to much! Admiting to us that you think there is a problem is great. Now you need to share that with someone that can help you... doctor, nutritionist, councelor.... someone. I will pray that you find peace .....

Ditto to what everyone here said..... Get your head out your old thoughts and starting thinking positively!! You are doing great!!! As far as the kids. I was a single mom many years ago when my now twenty something boys were little. When they got older they asked me where all their communion and confirmation money was. I told them ... the oil bill, the elelctric bill, the food bill.....LOL I do NOT feel guilty about using their money to help us live. If you are a better "you" .... You'll be a better mom! Keep up the great work... You'll get there!!! Easy does it, but do it.. LETS HERE IT FOR BANDLAND!!!!!

Paddy had been drinking at his local Dublin pub all day and most of th' night. Mick, the bartender, says "You'll not be drinking any more tonight, Paddy". Paddy replies "OK Mick, I'll be on my way den." Paddy spins around on his stool and steps off. He falls flat on his face. "Shoite" he says and pulls himself up by the stool and dusts himself off. He takes a step towards the door and falls flat on his face. "Shoite, Shoite!" he cries. He looks to the doorway and says to himself that if he can just get to the door and some fresh air he'll be fine. He belly crawls to the door and shimmies up to the door frame. He sticks his head outside and takes a deep breath of fresh air, feels much better and takes a step out onto the pavement. He falls flat on his face. "Bejesus . . I'm fockin' focked," says he. He can see his house just a few doors down, and crawls to the door, shimmies up the door frame, opens the door and collapses inside. He takes a look up the stairs and says "No fockin' way." But he crawls up the stairs to his bedroom door and says "I can make it to the bed." Again he pulls himself up by the doorframe, takes a step into the room and falls flat on his face. He says "Fock this, I gotta stop drinking," and falls into bed. The next morning, his wife, Jess, comes into the room carrying a cup of coffee and says, "Get up Paddy.Did you have a bit to drink last night?" Paddy says, "I did, Jess, I did. I was fockin' pissed, and how did you know?" "Mick the bartender phoned . . . You left your wheelchair at the pub."

I am so glad that your band is eroded!!!!! Heal Fast.... so you can continue the bandland journey.....

Jonathan, How are you doing post band removal? I agree.... You "bandless" guys should have somewhere to share with eachother and also stay here where we all need you! You are still part of us ..... I hope you are doing well.

I totally agree with Susan. Everyone is different and you really have to build a relationship with your band. What works for some, won't work for all. I am only 24 hours post fill of 2cc in a 4cc band. I am doing well on liquids. There is a difference... I can swallow fine, but I feel full easily. I am a newbee and still learning to live with my band so I don't want to sound like I know what I am talking about. I have read where peoples fills don't kick in until weeks later so this is a wait and see thing. JUST FOR TODAY I AM DOING WELL.......

What a great thread!!! I had so many turning points and I guess I have a big ego because even though I said it was for medical reasons, it was really vanity!!! Not being able to pull myself up onto the dock in lake george after swimming My granddaughter asking me why I had more than "one" stomach Not wanting to look for a job because of the way I looked Having no clothes to wear because I refused to buy a bigger size Couldn't buckle the seatbelt on the airplane My back hurt My knee was giving out I had dinner with the family and then would go in the kitchen and shove food in my face. Couldn't shop with my friends anymore. We would go to the mall and hook up later because we didn't shop in the same stores! I missed being active! I looked at people biking and walking with their families or DH and I was sad Not vacationing in certain European places becasuse they were "walking" tours Couldn't take off my wedding ring to paint the house or get in cleaned Always wanted to go parasailing and there is a weight limit I would take all these digital pictures and send to family and friends. they would always comment that I wasn't in the pictures! and the last reason was I was sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!!! Wow... this is what came of the top of my head.... There is so much more. I am on a new journey...... Just for Today!!!!

What a strange after affect of being banded!!!! LOL I have used Mitchum solid for woman since my mom gave it to me in puberty. I live in South Florida and have never had a problem. My DH always says how nice I smell. Lately, I seem to smell "off". I could't figure it out.... who would have thought it is the weightloss!!!

First fill today 2cc.

Also banded by Dr. Rumbaut, January 12, 2006. First Fill today... 2cc, no floro. She had a hard time finding the port, but it all worked out.

Susan, Boy can I relate.... I moved to Florida and then had the surgery so it doesn't matter because no one around here knew me anyway LOL I have gone down two sizes, but I am doing water aerobics 4 days a week and swimming and or biking/walking on the other days. It really has worked at losing inches. I am flying up to NY for a family party in April and I can't wait to see the reaction! I'll Keep you posted! PS...... I saw a sign down here in the post office to watch out for some skinny chick that is knocking the post over in their tracks!!!!!

We get out of the journey what we put in and according to that NSV list, you have accomplished so much! I admire your strength to stay ... to share ... to help others when you have had such a hard time in Bandland. Happy Anniversary....
