I am having my first fill tomorrow too.. I hope I get some good restriction, I already have some, but am looking forward to more. Good Luck!

What are your challenges so far? My big challenge is drinking enough fluids. I have always been bad at this and I am struggling to drink enough. I also have to stop obsessively weighing myself :cool2: I feel pretty good now, but have gotten stuck a couple of times and had 1 sliming incident. I have my first fill next Monday.

I took mine out. Mine is open and really well healed so now I only wear my navel rings for "special" occasions :wub: It stretched to oblivion when I was pregnant with my twins, but it looks OK now. I had to take out my tongue ring for my c-section and that closed up within an hour :thumbup: That sucked.. For my band I took out all my jewelry. It can get lost, get inside your body, conduct electricity etc. -

I started spotting a few days after surgery :thumbdown: I was due for my period last Friday and I thought maybe it wasn't coming, but it arrived today very unhappy I am crampy and can't take advil.. I hope when this is done the spotting stops too.. My periods always get weird when I lose weight.. You are not alone :redface: -

My port is right underneath my main incision I would love to cover it up too, but I plan to get a TT when the time comes and all that skin will be gone :mad2:

I'm assuming that it would not be a good idea to get a tattoo over your port area. When I had my twins my OB told me that if I had a tattoo on my back, the spinal becomes a problem because the needle carries some ink in with it. Not sure if this affects just the spinal column or any injection site?? I want to get more ink done when some of this weight is gone

I am 1 week out after lap band and hernia repair. It's not too bad, but today was my first day without pain meds. I went back to work on day 4 which I probably shouldn't have. Good luck with your surgery!

I was banded on Thursday and have that same feeling. But I can't burp :biggrin: I was a champion burper before and I WISH I could get some of the gas out now... -

Hi Ladies; My band is IN! I had the surgery July 10. They had to fix a hiatus hernia while doing the band, so I am still very tender and gassy. It was a little scary, but it was over so quickly! The demerol they gave me for pain made me wretch and heave, so I am taking Childrens liquid tylenol for pain. I have my first fill scheduled for Aug 11 .

I am to be banded next week at TLBC. I had my pre-op blood and EKG done, but they didn't order a chest x-ray. Should I call them or do they not do them anymore? Thanks

Hi my name is Allison and I am scheduled to be banded July 10 :biggrin: I am a working mom of 4 year old twins. I have been overweight my entire life :thumbup: I am excited about the band. Penny - I am sorry your insurance sucks I am a self pay and my payments are going to stretch my budget to the max, but I am worth it. I hope you find a solution soon. Nice to "meet" everyone!

I have been on a high Protein, low carb diet for about 10 days and yesterday I ate too many veggies at lunch and now I am starving! The first few days are the worst as your body gets off sugar, but the hunger will stop. I am allowed SF yogurt, Cottage cheese, lean chicken, tuna, egg, and green leafy veggies...

I had a c-section with my twins in 2004. I am due to be banded next Thursday, so I'll get my answer then I had an easier time with my c-section than I did with my IVF egg retrieval.

I asked about this at my consultation appointment. I could do it myself, but I will have one of my co-workers do it instead. :thumbup:
