    Compression shirts

Thanks for the reply. I’m a little over a year out now and wear compression shirts pretty much everyday. Keeps my body from clapping for me as I run or do any kinds of active movement. While I enjoy the encouragement of people clapping for me. Not a huge fan of my own flabby skin doing the clapping. I ended up going with Under armor brand most of the time and now adidas. We have a outlet stores near us as well as shopping at TJMax for them. I started with 2x sizes and like you said they got to big pretty quick as I lost weight. In a year I lost 130lbs and went from needing 2x or bigger compression shirts to wearing L now. And at $20 a shirt that adds up quick. My issue at first was smell. But we soak them in vinegar before washing now and that helps a ton.

    Protein taste issues

For me they work best. I’ve tried close to a dozen different kinds of drinks but just didn’t like them. Premier protein is a close second but these are better but also more expensive. Hope it helps cause they really keep me going in the morning.

    Protein taste issues

I’m about 6 months out but I found a Protein Drink that I really like. I drink it for Breakfast every morning. It is shamrock farms, rockin’ Protein builder. Gets me 30g of protein for 12 oz. That’s my breakfast just about every morning. They are made with milk and so the chocolate tastes just like chocolate milk to me the strawberry tastes like Nesquick strawberry milk and the vanilla is okay. I find them in the milk section at the store. I really like them a lot. I have never been a fan of the powders even the tasteless ones are horrible to me. These shakes help me get all my protein in most days. https://rockinprotein.com The site will show you where you can find them in your area.

    Backlash??

I had to step back from all forums for a bit. Even after surgery I was second guessing and even starting to get depressed. I wasn’t reading anything negative or being attacked or anything. I just needed to stop reading everyone else’s experience. This surgery was about me and my family and being healthy again. Medical professionals helped me to make this choice after attempts that I failed at to loose weight. My wife and family were supportive with my other failed attempts and this was my next option. As for the Covid aspect. If I was to get Covid at this weight I am more susceptible to being in the hospital anyway due to blood pressure and weight so... I’d be there either way. Why not go for the surgery and make it easier on the docs and nurses rather then go in with Covid. 2 days post op vs weeks with Covid. You are welcome docs and nurses. But truely my stepping back from the forums for a couple weeks has helped me. As well as going to the doctors and listening to my trusted medical professionals.
  5. Yeah. It took me a solid day just to be able to think straight and stay awake. Doing better now onto soft foods today.

    7 days post-op.

No my heat hasn’t been beating faster. As for getting my liquids in. My kids have these soppy cups that are just over 8 oz and the top is silicone all the way around and it’s easy sip and not get air coming in and keeps me from gulping. I still got a bunch of gas even up till yesterday every time I swallowed. Guessing that’s just the stomach adjusting.

I am so confused internally right now. I don’t know full from hungry. And after the pre-op diet I am literally traumatized from the most disgusting and vial protein shake, that I almost gag when drinking protein shakes I liked prior. The shakes was like an unbaked funfetti cake with a tub of funfetti icing and I drank it 5 days straight before I switched to the chocolate which tasted good but still hesitated before drinking each time. If I hadn’t paid 80 bucks for the 2 tubs I would have switched. But I’m to cheap for that.

That is very encouraging to hear. I really look forward to a “normal” meal with my kids and my wife feeling horrible that I am eating liquids while the kids eat tacos. My mind is definitely what is getting me most now. Without having to work or anything it’s easy to let my mind keep me from finding stuff to do.

    Pre-op liquid diet is Bullsh*t!!!

I know exactly what you mean about just wanting to crunch something. I did end up doing gum and a few ice pops. I am now post-op and still on liquid diet. Luckily not clear liquids so I can have cream soup and stuff like that. My wife made me an enchilada soup tonight and blended and strained it, but holy crap it would have been amazing with the tortilla chips my kids were making nachos out of!!!
  10. Well I am officially 7 days post-op. I took a big hit from the anesthesia. Took me all night Monday and all day Tuesday before I could focus or feel like I wasn’t going to fall asleep the second I relaxed. The day after I got home from surgery the doctors office called and when I mentioned I struggled with anesthesia she said. “Yeah I heard.” LOL And the pills. I was taking a ton of pills. Felt like I ate more pills in those two days then I had eaten anything since my pre-op diet started. Reflux hit as well as gas pains and it was rough so I stayed an extra night. I am doing well now. Managing pain with Tylenol and trying to get up to my 64 oz of water and 60g of protein. Motivation is hard at times but my wife is great. It’s a slow process and I am working on getting my mind wrapped around what happened and what life is going to be like. And my kids have been amazing. Well not all the time. But they have been really careful around dad and I’ve gotten a ton more cuddles from the kids. My oldest (11) does get worried and when he came home from school today he told my wife he felt like something was wrong. I was in bed taking a nap. She got out of him that he was worried about me. So we talked and I was able to reassure him that I was okay and things are getting better. It’s a good feeling to know that your kids care about you enough to worry. 😀
  11. Well I am officially 7 days post-op. I took a big hit from the anesthesia. An extra day later I am home doing okay. Trying to reach my goals and wrapping my mind around the future.
  12. I am on all clear liquids now. No protein shakes or veggies or anything since last night. I need to be at the hospital at 11:15 tomorrow to check in! It’s kinda getting real now.
  13. Just got my call today about the time of my surgery. I need to be to the hospital at 11:15 on December 14th.
  14. I’m going on the 14th as well. Our governor just put a bunch of restrictions back in place but luckily nothing to do with hospitals. So I am praying I get my call tomorrow after 2 like they said I would.
  15. I know its probably because I am on day 8 of my pre-op diet. But that sounds like the most amazing thing ever! I may be on purred foods by Christmas. Maybe I can make a purred charcuterie board for then.
