I’m almost a year post-op. I’m cold all of the time, unless I am in a hot shower or bath. I layer but find I am just cold under the layers. This is way worse than pre-op. Does it ever end or and I going to be cold forever?

They seem to be concerned in a not helpful way. I would give them some grace and the next time you see them assure them there have been multiple discussion with your surgeon on it. I was very open from the start with everyone. I got lots of questions and actually a lot of interested people. It’s surprising how many people have been thinking about it. One of my co-workers is out for surgery right now.

Jami.1992. Amazing progress. If you don’t mind my asking. How tall are you and what procedure did you have? I’m also glad I’m not the only one having some bumps. I’m post op 5 months and down 48 from surgery, 75 from my highest.
  8. Thanks

So I’ve been a bit of a clothes hoarder the past 15 years. I keep my favorites from past sizes. Since surgery I’ve been getting rid of things as I literally downsize. I just put on my smallest pair of jeans today. A size 17! I’m out of plus size pants!

K Be Good! reacted to ms.sss in Calories per day at 6+ months post op
    @OAGBPal:
Oooooohhhh....MATH & SPREADSHEET time! I'm not an engineer, just a comp sci geek, but I love me some math & spreadsheets (don't judge me).
I always sorta cringe inwardly when I read posts of us comparing number of calories consumed and total lbs lost without taking other factors into account....specifically BMI (there are other factors, but those are beyond the scope of this post). Long ago I tried to push the math of this but I sensed all the virtual eyes of the collective glazing over, so I didn't push it further. But since you seem data-friendly, I present to you this (the fruits of my anality and boredom):
I took the liberty of pulling your stats from your profile, and looked up my stats at 2 months post op to do a side by side comparison:

**note: my LMM data was recorded at 2 months, 3 weeks...but close enough!)
First the obvious: You are a good foot taller than I am, and weighed roughly 30% more than me on our respective surgery dates (Plus you're male and I'm not)
While we started off at at a 5-point spread in BMI, at the two month mark, we were reeeeeally close in percentage of BMI points lost (m-17% vs o-16%)
Your lean muscle mass percentage at 2 months vs mine at 2 months is higher by 13%. So technically, I was fatter than you.
Now, what's not so obvious is that while I was consuming 500 cals at two months and you 1200, if we factor in just total LMM, the difference of calories per lb of LMM is 1.3 calories. Which, when applied to our respective spread in LMM, amounts to 133 calories a day.
So that means, based on our makeup of LMM, I was just eating the equivalent of little over 1 tbsp of butter a day more than what you are eating.
And when you take into consideration the fact that you are bigger/taller/higher LLM than me at 2 months, that difference of a tablespoon of butter is all but eliminated (if not more) as your BMR is likely way higher than mine was. You burn more calories just existing than I did. Plus you're a man and your metabolic rate is likely more efficient than mine.
Sooooooo....when people are shocked with the number of calories me and others eat/ate, consider the context. Context is KING. QUEEN.
    Ta-da!
Added Notes: of course, this is a very simplistic view of it all and assumes that we have the same BMR, exercise habits, medical conditions, etc. etc., But you get the point, I hope.
    P.S. I also hope I didn't make YOUR eyes glaze over...lolololzzzzz

Starting to lose again after another stall. I was supposed to go back to work tomorrow but I caught a virus. Going to go get COVID tested. Probably won’t go back until Tuesday now.

My surgeon cleared me yesterday to start working out. I went ahead and got my 10000 steps and did some squats, jumps, and knee highs. Nothing too strenuous. I also upped my Water a bit. Today I gained almost a pound. I just finished a stall so this is a bit stressful. My question is will this even out or do I need to be doing something extra?

Mine was done laparoscopic. I’m doing well other than one incision. It constantly burns sharply whenever I walk. I’m not sure whether to walk through the pain or take it easy. If it wasn’t for that I would be off the norco.

I hit my first stall a week and a half ago. I just started losing again this morning. I knew it was going to happen based on others posts but it was still stressful. I’m a little over a month out. I’m now down 17 pounds down. I really want to hit the 20 pound mark before going back to work.

Who knew not eating would make you lose weight. I’ve been averaging around 900 calories a day on my liquid diet. I’ve lost almost 7 pounds since Sunday. No joke this is hard. The kids are eating pop tarts as I type.

I’m almost at the end of my endurance. Surgery 12/3. I’m down over 15 pounds. I’m still on liquids per my surgeon. I’m getting my Water, my Vitamins, and half my Calcium. I just started having episodes of tachycardia and today left shoulder pain. Can a leak occur at three weeks out? I’m seeing my surgeon tomorrow but I really feel close to tears. I just want to eat some sort of dinner with the family.
