i have pain on the left side of the waist area! im having an MRI in 2 weeks to see whats happening with me because all my results are normal

I have been banded for one year and 6 months now and for a month i have been feeling this "Click or Nudge" type of pain where my port is located (Between breasts) I went to the doc, and he said nothing was wrong and gave me pills to reduce infection IF I HAVE ANY as he said. No tests were done. I have been waking up daily in the night as if i was choking BUT my band is not tight at all! Im @ my sweet spot. Yesterday i was having dinner, i guess i did no chew well (brocolli) and i vomited, which caused my stomach to Twirl or how can i put it, i felt as if my stomach was being squeezed as if you squeeze Water out of a towel, i have PB'd many times but this was the worse! Today i feel like u know, clicks or flickering on my port, (sorry my english is not that good) I know u will say to go and see the doc, but im on self pay and he is REALLY expensive and if i were to see him i should wait for next month till i get my salary. Please is this something A BIT normal?? am i feeling port malfunction??!!! Thanks

I have my port located under my breast in the middle, and the other stitches below it, now from time to time, i feel pain in my stomach or belly, its not a killer pain but i feel a bit of an itch or more of like my belly is full, i dont know how to explain it. My fill is normal, i can eat but small portions, i have been banded for a year and 3 months now, and lost half my weight, but the thing is, is this normal??? should i be worried and go to the doc? i was there like a month ago and we don't do Xray or any sort when i get a fill, its all done by me sipping water and telling him when the fill is alright. He said everything was perfect and me slowly loosing the weight, also he said that i will be filled half a CC from now on as he filled me one CC and i was EXTREMELY full LOL! Just to be on the safe side, should i be worried?

I drink a little less than half a can of soda and i keep burping all the time, but there is no pain what so ever!

i pay $ 123 for my fills and nothing was free LOL

I had my fill one week ago We had ONE CC placed then it was too tight i went the next day and had HALF a CC moved. I was tight for a whole week and was not able to even eat my pudding. Yesterday i could eat MEAT!! So does this happen to you, one minute you are tight the next you are not? Im sure my band did not slip as i can feel it also i have no complications (Touch Wood) what so ever. But today morning i was drinking water and here it was tight again! I feel like im playing hide and seek with this band :thumbup: Been banded for a year now and i had this question for a year but decided to post it now :smile2:

hhaah same here! I mean, My friends invite me to lunch or dinner or whatever, because they know that now i can eat specific types of food, i go there having to drool because i did not eat all day (im usually not hungry all day) then i grab a first bite, and thats it !!!!!! Second day i swear i can eat a cow!!! I think my band is playing tricks on me LOL

Do you mean that the doctor gets to choose what you should do??

The same happens here! LOL, im soo irritated than i would want to tear off my clothes hahaah! My friends band is on her waist left side, and she complains how lucky i am! as if she knew!

Well, i think she just likes to eat! I know they loose the weight very fast, i had a cousin do that, and she looked very sick when i saw her. But what i meant was it's better than PBing and sliming and all the ugly stuff we go through

You can go to Emadi Hostpital, Al-Ahli Hospital and Hamad Hospital , i recommend Dr Emadi in Emadi Hospital though he charges 450 Riyals :smile2:

LOL! funny! I was eating lunch with friends, and i actually did not tell everyone that i had a band, so i got stuck apparently from hummos (Mashed Chickpeas), ran to the toilet and it was occupied, i kept knocking on the door until she opened with an angry face, i ran to the toilet and immediately, as if i was playing basketball, it hit straight into it LOL! Another time i had a meeting, and i ate Bread with cheese, i also left the meeting running, to the toilet and imagine, i also made a goal into bowl without throwing up outside !! The funny part is, what will you tell them!! hahah i usually say dhierria :blushing:

HEY! i have not done my band in Mexico but i can answer your questions , note that i have been banded for a year now: 1) Will she miss any work after there surgery. I went two work 2 days after my surgery, sure i was in a bit of pain, but my job is relaxing and doesnt need much hard work! 2) How often would she have to get the band refilled? When you feel that the band has gotten looser, and you can eat much more than usual, i go get checked and get filled.. I usually have one week of free fill or unfill after the fill i paid for (I pay for everything) so its usually up to me how tight or loose i want it! most people go every 2 months! i dont do that! 3) Diet, How hard is it to get used to it. Understand you cant eat food for 21 days. Belive me, you would not want to eat for 21 days or more LOL, its a surgery, and you wont be hungry, also getting Water to be swallowed is hard enough, but then you can always eat mushy stuff, like liquid mashed potatoes or boiled tomatoes with some spices (also mashed), use your imagination :blushing: Good luck! I love my band and would never leave it Hopefully :confused:

Well, i have my surgery the same place, for the first month i wore a bra with no wires and they would be loose ones also, and now, i wear wired bras but i dont get them so tight as when i am filled i get a tiny pain, i dont know why, its like i am irritated or something LOL!

if you are on antibiotics then you may need to stop, i had the same thing and it all turned out from the antibiotics the doctor subscribed!

I was 81 Kilos when i did my operation, was not obese but was fat because im only 158 CM! so i was fat and round! I did this because for years i have been struggeling with weight gain and loss, i would loose then gain them in a second, i have no control over myself, i just LOVE food in any color or type, i just LOVE food! So i did the operation, did it on June / 08 and now June /09 i lost so far 15 Kilos, im very happy, a slow weight loss in one year, but very happy that it is slow, i can now control what i eat and how i eat, im the last to leave the table and the least person to have something in their plate! I love my band (When i am not tight enough LOL) and i think this was the best investment i did (i paid myself also) Good luck with wahtever you decide.

That's what my doc does, i love it!! It gets less tight by time and i can know what i can eat and how i drink also

A double Whooper and Large Fries from Burger king! I know i can't eat any burgers, all i can eat is a little portion of the meat :thumbup: but im really craving to have the full burger in my mouth, with the bread and the onions and the tomatoes!!! LOL What are you craving for??
