I had the same worry. My pre op diet was extremely strict 2weeks. Two times before surgery I had about a half cup of rice with a spicy oily tomato sauce. I was so scared. Hospital said was fine. My Surgeon told me before I went under that there is no silly question or anything that will make them mad & not to be afraid to ask them ANYTHING! I’m glad because I asked more than I may have after surgery had he not said that! Greatest luck to you!

I’m doing okay but getting water down is just awful. Broth too. Thank goodness for sugar free popsicles & jello & protein water the nutritionist brought me in hospital. But I need to seriously work on getting plain water in. It’s strange, at times I can eat a whole popsicle but to take one tiny sip of water is awful. I hope you are doing well. What was epidural for? That wasn’t mentioned to me. I do worry that it’s been a long time since I’ve done anything except pee so I hope I don’t get blocked up because I’m even taking a stool softener from Surgeon every day but nothing. I know every day will get better and am thankful they all said my surgery went very well. Prayers going up to you Shoegirl6 and everyone else on this journey.

I’m on my 3rd day & have it so bad I can’t get nearly enough broth or water down. I never even had heartburn before so I hope it goes away.

I had mine done on the 8th. Struggling to get a lot of water in. Is anyone else having trouble ? Hope everyone is doing okay.

I didn’t pay anything. I got a lot of letters from different specialists. Not even co pays or the nutritionist or psychological exam. It only took a month from 1st appt to surgery being scheduled but it was rescheduled a month later bc non essential so it’s on 8th. I did the 14 day liquid died twice. I just hope he will get the plastic surgeon he works with to put rashes, infections etc for help with skin as I can’t afford that I don’t think.

How much do these surgeries cost? Does insurance pay?

I have lost 12 olds so I hope they don’t change it.

I’m 8th. Hope not rescheduled bc I forgot take shake today & got so dizzy almost fainted twice so Daughter gave me half cup of rice with bit of spicy sauce & hard boiled egg. Had only 1 of 5 shakes allowed today & 3 of 5 shakes yesterday & will try tomorrow to only have 1or 2. I’ll tell surgery nurse Bc His Nurse was gonna tell Dr. I had a 1 sugar free Gatorade & 3 mints for my breath on day 2 so I told her to tell him I thought he was very handsome first. She laughed. This is 2nd time For 2 week pre diet bc cancelled bc covid. It’s a blessing as I got blocked up that night in extreme pain so am taking Metamucil. Hope it works. May everyone have great success!

You will be fine! I’m not trying to worry you because with Covid everyone is backed up. But there is huge difference so thought I’d share my experience. I know how you are feeling! I cancelled Surgery in Nov after doing 2 week fluids bc of blogs with horrific complications scared me to death. plus I never heard of loose skin that bad like the extreme ones on U-tube. Also petrified of Anesthesia bc bad issue before. Cancelled surgery in Jan because Dad died. I have met with my surgeon 4 times and he is the nicest caring surgeon. He doesn’t rush me & answers questions truthfully. He also does reflux surgery & has vitamins on amazon plus U-tube videos. He has plastic surgeon he works with & went over info to help insurance cover skin removal as it’s unhygienic & rashes hurt. But said exercise helps so much. His Nurse is awesome and when I call her for questions, she never tries to hurry me. The hospital pre op & Covid test ran smooth. It only took a month to be okayed so I pay nothing. The office is efficient. Surgery is Sep 8th. Three times a charm, I wish I had done it in November. I did the liquid diet twice now & gained it back. If you have a bad feeling make sure surgeon is a registered Bariatric Surgeon. Our health & lives are at risk. I have 4 bad issues will go away. So please think about that if you get scared at the last minute. We can all do this. Like you, I am pretty much alone except my husband. I’m really thankful for everyone here. If anyone is in the Houston/The Woodlands area, He has a 5 star rating several places so I’ll share info. Prayers for everyone having soon & recovering!

How come we can’t have caffeine on the liquid diet? I’m 3 days on liquid diet & a horrible headache just started. How long does it usually last? I got really sick in the hot sun securing everything for Hurricane Laura, then anxiety as it became a category 4. Not having coffee is harder for me than all liquid diet (for now). Excited & scared for the 8th! Glad I found y’all to talk about our surgeries. Good luck on yours!
