I had 10 days off, but i got up and about and didn't lie down much AT ALL. I feel as if i could have gone back to work around day 3. GOOD LUCK
-
Get up and get moving! It's the best medicine! You can do it, and you're doing the right thing with Gas X

I was banded about a year ago and haven't regretted one minute of it. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Recently (yesterday) i had my gallbladder out and I remember how easy the surgery really was. Don't sweat it, while there are risks the payoff (if you are dedicated is really worth it). Just get up and about ASAP and buy something pretty for yourself after surgery to make you feel good. Sit back, relax and get someone to take care of you. It's a great feeling, there will be ups and downs but ultimately it is all VERY VERY worth it. Wishing you all the best, from DALLAS TX

SHARE... what you've learned after Banding
Malice X Girl replied to NewSho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It takes awhile but the band did change my thinking ultimately. Once you start to succeed food seems to become less and less important. However once banded any little problem I have I think it's band related, and am scared that something will happen that will make me lose the band. One thing I wish I knew....why there are some days when I have restriction and other days I have none. One thing I would change, in the beginning I over ate and I stretched my pouch a bit... -
Yesterday I had my gallbladder out and I have to say thus far it has been REALLY easy. I feel a bit sore but that's the extent of it. Thanks to everyone for their support.

That is fantastic! Keep it up girl~

La Chula, i'm so sorry to hear that. No i've never heard of that problem but please keep us posted.

Needing Some Advice------i Have To Lie About My Surgery Is That Terrible?
Malice X Girl replied to apinksoprano's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Be truthful. I took off for "gallbladder surgery" and low and behold...now I have to REALLY have my gallbladder out. -
They fixed it when they did my band. I didn't even know i had one.
-
I know MANY lapband patients have to have their gallbladder removed. Well mine is coming out Saturday morning. What can I expect after surgery? Will my life style have to change at all? Did you have any complications? Thanks
-
WONDERFUL TO KNOW!!! I have been concerned and thinking that no one really knew what my job entailed. Thank you so much for the info. I'm not so worried about it anymore.
-
That's good to know. How long was your recovery time? The doc said I could go back to work Wed. and my surgery is on Saturday. I teach elementary school...and have gotten varied opinions on this.
-
Sounds very similar to what happened to me...it happened twice and I ended up calling the docs emergency number. One sonogram later i am scheduled to get my gallbladder out on Saturday. Don't eat foods that are spicy, greasy or high in fat and don't over eat. STAY AWAY FROM CHINEESE FOOD.

Help! What would you do?
Malice X Girl replied to NewBeginnings2018's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I say tell him. Secrets are no good plus you'll feel better being open with him. Things will be even more obvious when you're able to eat maybe 5 bites of food before you're done. -
And it's all I can do to get it off. I know it's not really going any slower than usual but I think since i'm SO close I am more and more anxious to get to goal. Any ideas to kick it up?

I know that this varies from person to person but I want to know the general consensus. How many calories do you consume for optimal weightloss?
-
The answer...the world may never know. Haha

Malice X Girl replied to Malice X Girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the info guys. It is really rough but it's nice to know that it seems to go somewhat smoothly.
