:help: I went in for a fill today and the woman told me that my pouch was stretched...then she told me it was no big deal. I asked if it would go back and she said not without a total unfill...then I would gain. She told me it was not necessary and sent me on my way like everything was ok. I need more information...this can't be as simple as she made it out to be. What did I do to myself (ok I know I overate) but what are the effects? ...Malice...:help:

Question for those who've had their gallbladder removed
Malice X Girl posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went in to see the doc. today and he said to get it taken out. I asked him how long recovery time would be and he said to get it out on Saturday and I could be back to teaching on Monday...Tuesday at the latest. I was SHOCKED. What was your recovery time? I'm pretty active and up and about with these elementary kids and just have a hard time thinking that its that easy.... -
Gallbladder attack...without a gallbladder???
Malice X Girl posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Well I thought it was done with. About 2 months I had my gallbladder removed so I figured that I would have no more problems. Well last night I ate potato cheese Soup *something that had sparked an attack before I got my gallbladder out* and sure enough I had that same searing pain in my upper abdomen. It makes no sense to me. I don't have a gallbladder...but it was exactly the same pain. *confused* -
Is it normal 15 months out from surgery...
Malice X Girl replied to AngieM's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I gurgle...ALOT but i just had an endoscopy and they said nothing was wrong. Of course I had to call and ask for the results and then a receptionist got back to me so now i'm wondering how reliable this is. However my band seems normal and i've pretty much always gurgled. -
I am sure it is the stomach but it is (imo) a direct result of being banding. That's why I say it's because of the band . Or even food going through the band but it's definatly a problem (though very minor)
-
Yeah...i've told my neice (who is 11) that it just started doing that when I got my gallbladder out...however my friends wouldn't buy that.
-
Yes!!! Please tell me how to stop it from making so much noise. It's very hard to keep it a secret when it keeps calling out at me when i'm eating.

I love Dr. Jayaseelan! He did my band and removed my gallbladder. I would HIGHLY recommend him. -

Today is a brand new day...and a brand new year. A clean slate if you will. Day 1. What are your resolutions in your life this year? Mine: I would like to start stregnth training to help get to my goal. I'm just 10 lbs away. I will not snack and graze at night as that is my worst time for eating. I will be happy and live my life to the fullest. Your turn. Welcome to A BRAND NEW DAY

Are you sure she is vomitting. I find that often I just need to stand up and walk around and the bathroom is the most inconspicous place to go.

I have the same problem. It's been a year since surgery and every now and then I will have pain on that side near my port *but it doesn't feel as if it is my port* if that makes any sense.
-
Can anyone tell me why my side hurts. Sometimes it feels as if the port is hurting but sometimes it's not that at all but it is on that side It's driving me crazy and if there is a way to prevent it I would LOVE to know about it.
-
What are the do's and don'ts? I want to tone up, yet at the same time I don't want to hurt the band.
-
I was almost a year out when I started waking up in the middle of the night with INTENSE pain...after a few times I finally went to the doc, who said to get an ultrasound. A week or so later I was getting my gallbladder out. BEWARE THOUGH. It is still possible to have gallbladder attacks even if you don't have a gallbladder. So really look into it and talk to your doctor.

Good to know guys! Thanks

Anyone know the answer to this question. Sure being comfortable with where you are does account for some of it but I promise you that it used to be easier...

Now don't get me wrong, I am SO happy with where I am and my decision. I would do it again in a heart beat, but in my situation I am completely socially inept especially when it comes to dating. It SUCKS. I have NO IDEA what i'm doing, but what is worse is the telling someone it is not going to work out. I'm 24 years old and I have no idea how to do it, granted I just did. Before it wasn't a problem, I was alot more shy I guess and didn't put myself out there so relationships weren't an option now it is. It's difficult to break out of your comfort zone and just go for it just jump into a relationship and letting someone get to know you. Bleh guess I just needed to vent, but also thought it was an interesting topic. What other "side effects" have you found? Good or bad.

Would like more info if there is any.
-
Thanks for the info guys! That's good to know and have relieved my fears. The office was closed today but i'll try again tomorrow.
-
But didn't ever talk to the doctor. He's very busy but am still curious as to what the results were. If there was a problem you think he would have come out and spoke to me asap...right?
-
Thanks for the responses. The endoscopy was my first one, one wasn't required pre-band. It was just the one year mark so an annual check up. It was NOTHING. I went in, they gave me a sedative and the next thing I knew I was perfectly fine waking up in recovery. It is nothing like general anestesia. I could have gone to work right afterwards and even rode 10 miles on a bike today. Yeah I think that I will call the doctor tomorrow if they don't call me.

Did you have to have an endoscopy pre-op??
Malice X Girl replied to jillrn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for the info. Mine didn't require one till 12 mo post op. I have plans for later that day (day before thanksgiving) so I wanted to be sure i could still shop and cook and (shhh) eat.
